The vehicle code was posted, the center mounted rearview is all that's required.
I'm pretty sure a center mounted rearview mirror isn't required. Just a mirror that is
so located as to reflect to the operator a view of the roadway for a distance of 200 feet to the rear of such vehicle
. A single crappy Walmart bike mirror most likely complies.

I'm wondering if a camera-based "mirror" would even be legal there since they're technically not a mirror.

The center mounted mirror met the requirement, thus making the entire traffic stop unlawful.

Actually, a dentist mirror is legal here. They were used on “Chopper’s” along with a tiny front “custom” brake that couldn’t stop a Schwinn , but were legally a mirror and a brake. Yea man,
I beat them ! 🙄

There are proposed changes to FMVSS 111 for digital side mirrors, but I don't think they're legal in the US just yet.

Different from digital rear-view mirrors which are apparently legal, probably because manufacturers provide two conventional side mirrors on those cars.

If it was me, I would have swoled up and, and...

Y'all are either full of s**t, stupid, rude, or just begging to get cornholed in holding while you prove an officer wrong over a warning.

Yes, cops make mistakes. No, they don't have your state's code memorized to the letter. Some are even a**holes. They'd fit in great with us here.

Now settle down, ladies. You're all special.

How is this comment productive in any way?
Productive? First of all I've never been productive on these boards and secondly the crap about not wanting to put mirrors on because its my right I find ridiculous.

Hey how do I get a free pass to violate constitutional rights?
Didn't I already use the words "mistake" for the cop and "special" for you? With that level of reading comprehension, the Constitution must be a long read.

I'm just givin' you crap. This entire thread got ridiculous quick.

In every profession there are good, bad, hard working, lazy, smart, dumb, ethical and unethical employees. I can say first hand it includes law enforcement.

I bought some motorcycle side-view mirrors for my tube doors. But this summer, for a few weeks, I ran the Jeep doorless... with no side mirrors of any kind. I too live in a state that only has the rear view, 200 foot line-of-sight, requirement.
