If you wanted this:

Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara 4x4
Firecracker Red
Black Interior
18" x 7.5 Inch Tech-Gray Machine-Face Wheels
8.4-Inch Display
Tow Package
MANUAL Transmission

But you were also willing to order this:

Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport S 4x4
Firecracker Red
Black Interior
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Wheels
8.4-Inch Display
Tow Package
MANUAL Transmission

But you *really* liked the 18" wheels mentioned on the Sahara...

What would you do? I'm reading the order form posted on this forum to determine what "else" I'm getting with the Sahara and I'm not certain I can justify the price difference. Unless... is there something strategic that I am getting with the Sahara that I'm not seeing?

Is there a way to get the 18" wheels from the Sahara I mentioned? I don't think so... I know about buying used take-offs... any other thoughts?

Thanks,
Pete
Bullshit, nobody likes the tuna! (18" Sahara wheels)"

I'm usually not all about the fancier stereo, etc... but I'm feeling like a splurge is in order. LOL.

Tell me if the 8.4 is worth the extra $ It's definitely not a cheap upgrade.

The Sahara will get a slightly different look like matching wheel fenders, silver accents in the grill/headlights. My favorite touch is leather dash/door accents but that might only come if you order along with the leather seats.

Might I suggest looking at the 80th anniversary?
I second this! I have one in Sarge Green.
If not possible, get the Sahara. I like the look of the painted fenders. Plus all the other inside goodies that Sahara brings, or the 80th.

LOL. And I'll say it a third time. No manual trans in the 80th. ;)

Unless you've got plans to go bigger with aftermarket, IMO, the largest screen you can get OEM is worth it. These days, even 8.4" isn't considered "big" (That's what she said).

It's an upgrade you'll enjoy and get value out of, everyday, every time you drive your Wrangler. The radio will be easier to read, the off-road pages will be easier to read, maps will be easier to read, the rear camera video will be easier to see, etc.

I have the 7 and it's fine. Wouldn't go smaller. Would have gotten the 8.4 if there was a no sub option. I'm an old man and I value the storage over the thump and rattle.

PS I have a Sport S manual with just about every other option. My only regret was not getting the black painted wheels that were about a 300 dollar upgrade at the time. I'll fix that when it needs tires though.

Big difference in my mind is that Sahara has selec trac full time 4wd and sport doesnt, unless something changed and sport has that in the 2021s. Not sure if that's something you'd care about, but if it is then that plus all the Sahara goodies might be worth the difference to you since that's something you couldn't easily (or at all? no idea) upgrade after the fact.
Sport altitude you can get it. But I’m not sure about normal sport s

I'll post up what I'm 99.9% I'm going with! Going to be a:

2021 Sport S
Firecracker Red
Black Interior
Granite Wheels (Yeah, I know... nobody likes stock wheels... but I do. LOL)
Side Steps
Premium Black Sunrider Soft Top
8.4
Soft Top Window Storage Bag
Floor Mats
Tow
Manual Trans

I have to say, this forum is great!

Now... go ahead and tell me what I could be doing differently. :)
Can you option the led headlights?

The Sport is 3.21 Gearing whereas the Sahara is 3.72. Do you need the 3.72 gearing? If not, then save yourself some money and get the Sport.

It's loud inside the cabin and you are ordering a soft top, so less noise reduction opportunity. Not sure how much you would be able to notice a better stereo without blasting your ears off. Hardtop you could add the headliners, which will make some difference.

90% of the time we have Carplay running and it runs fine on the 7. The 8.4 gets you off-road pages with the Rubicon, but I don't usually have a lot of time off-road to be staring at it. Usually I have Gaia up instead and use the center display to check tires / temps. Tried both when I was shopping, decided to stick with the 7 and put the savings in my pocket.

WAIT!

I think my sales guy is gonna kill me... but am I seeing this right?

Freedom comes with the better top, LED, leather, and the darker wheels... What am I missing?

For what it is worth, when i ordered my Rubi last week, the sales guy said that Jeep is holding back all the microprocessor parts for use in the Sahara and Rubicon models only. He had guy put in a sport order (with certain upgrades) a couple weeks ago, and that his order still hasn't been accepted.

If that is true, then I would avoid the Sport unless you are willing to wait until the 2022s start coming out.
