If I remember right they weren't that great on the JK. They pitted really easily and you needed to constantly wash/replace your wipers as they had a tendency to scuff the surface. I also recall their being increased haze/glare issues with them in afternoon sun.

For $95 Gorilla Glass might be the best value and option ever in the Wrangler universe "if" it works as advertised.

Personally I do not think anything can be worse than the regular Mopar acoustic windshield. I tried 3 of them in the first 9 months of ownership. I definitely am going to gamble $95 on Gorilla Glass when I place my next Wrangler order.

Here are a few articles on it.

Personally I drive the distance away that driver’s education told me. I also avoid driving behind big trucks with more than four wheels. Never had problems. Just my two cents.
My money is you will break one before the warranty is up. Lol.

I am pretty careful also. I owned a TJ, JK, JL and countless other cars. 240K miles on the TJ with the original windshield. Prior to the JL I have only broken a single windshield in the last 40 years. The JL acoustic windshields are a LOT more fragile. 3 broken windshields in the first 9-12 months. I probably would be on #4 if it were not for covid and driving a lot less last year. Plus the windshields pit REALLY quickly. They look like they are worn 3 years in 3 months.

This here is key advice.. sort of motorcyclist mentality.
I still got tagged by a semi coming around a bend on Hwy 375, in the opposite lane, in my direction. Saw it fired right out from under the front tire straight at my face. Didn't even know they could do that..

So, had my windshield replaced today. Talked with the tech from Safelight most of the time. He said Gorilla Glass isn’t really worth it, in his opinion, though they do sell it. He said only the inside layer of the windshield is gorilla glass, and it’s really meant to stop objects from penetrating through, not chips and cracks outside. Don’t know if it’s true, but figure the glass guy would know better than me.

Heard a small pebble hit on my drive home. No damage seen. Jeep sat in garage overnight and woke up to this.
Damn. Hopefully the insurance is good, that looks like a replacement situation to me
