1. It heats up food, when you are on the go. I put a Burrito, wrapped in foil, on the engine. I tucked it partially under the dust cover, to the left of the alternator. After an hour of driving, in 50 degree weather, it was almost too hot to eat, right away. BTW, don't do this to impress your wife, it wont.
2. When you come inside the cab, half frozen, from watching your kid's track game, it gets toasty warm, very fast.

I’d Rather Talk Jeep’s!
When I worked construction, my coworker would do this with his lunch while driving his dump truck. Worked like a charm!

I have a friend with a small-block Chevy that he uses for overlanding. He keeps pre-made burritos in his ARB fridge, then heats them on the manifold at lunch. đź’Ż

When I pull in the garage I open my hood and in the winter the heat that contributes keeps the space just a touch warmer.

What kind of burrito?
Homemade. Homemade Chicken Fajitas, with roasted jalapenos/poblanos/colored bell peppers/onions, rice, Monterey Jack cheese, and a touch of salsa. All on large burrito sized tortilla.
A healthy, tasty, and filling meal.

3. Mice or other rodents will not nest under the hood for fear of living and dying in a burning firery hell.
4. Hood vents look totally cool when around 0* there is steam rolling out like a man hole cover in the big city.
5. If you can’t remember where you parked, you can easily smell the smell of OAT to locate it in a parking lot.

Ok, as long as there’s no cilantro in there, I’m good with it.
I'm not a big fan of it either. There are only a couple of dishes I use it in, sparingly.

Also, tamales wrapped in foil, cook really well, on the engine.

Great post! My buddy and I used to jam all over the Sacramento/San Joaquin Delta in his Dodge 440 powered flat bottomed v-drive boat in the early 80's...
There were nearly always 2 burritos warming on the valley pan under that Holley double pumper! 🤣🤣

I picked up a small chipmunk out in the woods. It tried to make a nest next to the aux battery. On another vehicle it would have succeeded and chewed thru half of my wiring. The 3.6 cooked it like that burrito.
