Good location for Warn winch disconnect solenoid?

The location next to my battery was taken by my trigger six shooter. So I mounted to the plastic airbox. I used some flex seal over the metal bracket underneath to prevent it from contacting anything metal.

Thanks to all you for your posts. I bought the badge low aux switch board and the warn solenoid and installed. I bought 5 inch 90 degree corner braces from big box store to hold solenoid. Cut and bent to fit and out a couple coats of paint on. Used Aux 4. Works great!!

The Diesel battery is all the way back. Anyone have a picture of aDiesel installed?

Mounted mine on the firewall next to the fuse block. All I did was notch a piece of scrap 2x2 aluminum angle to fit around the tab on the wire chase.

Here's mine on a diesel (JT, but should be the same in the engine bay). This is a switch, not a solenoid, but same idea. Without that upward bend, it was a little too tight against the battery with this switch. But most of the solenoids are a little smaller

Anyone using a disconnect like this. It switches off both negative and positive. Probably not necessary for the negative.

Thanks everyone. Here's my install. Still routing main cable to the output of the solenoid (that's the electrical tape on the solenoid in case someone turns it on), but tied into the Aux switches and works as planned. Should work great.

So you used the 40 amp #1 switch for your disconnect?
