Took some time off. While gone she went in for paint correction and PPF all over minus roof and tailgate. Added a little sticker and got a ton of parts ordered for the build. Also got a new phone mount. We will see how I like this set up. Should start moving quickly.

Not a big "orange marker" type. Usually I try to find clear replacement lenses but on the last few cars I could not so I bought some tinted vinyl and started wrapping them. Just finished the rig. I think I may also do just the rear reflectors, not the lenses.

I added these today. They are the knock offs and I saved about half. So far so good. Seem to be really high quality, thick plastic. The rear on all of them could be a little longer but I think they are all the same length, fake or real.

I got the same ones. Wish I had noticed the little arrow to line them up before I had installed the fronts. No one will notice, but I know!

Hotter than hell here so over the last few mornings I got my CB installed using both Cooltech kits. I will say it was fairly easy using all the videos on here. I couldn't find the AUX wires for the life of me. They were way tucked up on the right side and wrapped completely with the fabric tape so I couldn't find them.

So I got to 1,000 miles. I will say so for I still love this rig. It is my first Wrangler and third Jeep. So for all the different mods I have done seem to go smoothly mostly the CB and pulling off all the panels.

My only dislikes or gremlins I have so far are the steering and Uconnect. I think my steering is not perfect but I also do not think it is as bad as others. Also twice now my uconnect system just shuts off completely while driving and resets itself. I will have both these looked at during first oil change.

I am also finding that many mods are taking time to get the parts. I am a want it now type but having to have patience is brutal while waiting for the parts to get in stock.

Next mods will be to mount up the ARB dual compressor under the hood when I get my bracket and then I am going to tackle the red dash and vinyl it a different color.

Over all I am really happy with the rig and plan to get her dirty soon.

Although you're having these concerns, we're glad to hear you're enjoying it overall. As far the steering and Uconnect concerns, feel free to send me a direct message with your VIN. I'd be glad to work with you and the dealer toward a resolution.

Look forward to seeing your underhood ARB install.

Thank you. PM sent.

Yeah same here. I hope this project won't be over my head. I got the bracket from the JL member here and he said it is not all that bad and he would help if needed (over the phone).

Looks great on the tinted side markers. I bought vinyl tint as well but haven't gotten to it. I had a question.... Did you sand down the raised letters on the side markers?

No. I use a heat gun to warm it up and just push down. Mine can be removed back to stock and you wouldn’t know it.

ARB installed.

First of all - ALL THE CREDIT goes to Jim @Kansascoast

I really only wanted to mount this under the hood. So I have been waiting. Owned the ARB for months. Jim engineered a bracket so I got one. Then on top of that he sent me just a ton of pics to help as well as allowed me to call him on the phone as I am not all that mechanically inclined. I finished up the install today and voila, it works perfectly.

I needed some help to mount the ARB. Someone to hold from the top while you find, thread and tighten the screws. Once it was all mounted then it was on to running the air line. I did exactly what Jim did and ran the line down and mounted the bib right under the door to the frame bracket. Jim provided all the pics that I used to walk into my hardware store and get all the correct parts.

After that then was the wiring. I used 3/4" black flex tubing to run the wires from the harness up under the "square wire loom" that is already in place by the fire wall over to the battery. When doing this there are two connectors and looms. One is the positive and negative, big wires. The other is the small switch wire loom. For me the only wire you need from that entire mess is the purple wire. You hook that to the orange (Aux 3 button) wire over by the battery if you have the aux switches. The rest of all of it I cut off.

Hooked up the 2 pos wires to the battery, hooked up the 2 neg (one tiny and one large) to the ground block by the fuse box and done. The compressor now works when you push the aux 3 button. Best part there is no lifting the hood. It is all right there.

Can't thank Jim enough for all the hard work to make this dream possible. He truly is McGuyver. First 4 photos are my photos of my job. The remainder are from Jim to help assist on the install.

I too got the bracket from Kansas and will be installing this weekend. I like your location for the air lines, but aren't you worried they are gonna get dirt/water in the line?
