Just turned my lease over to a buyer on my 17 challenger scat shaker and I'm trading in my 17 grand Cherokee Srt tomorrow, the dealer will hold the equity until I can order a JL. Cmon November!

Now thats a Leap of Faith. Apples and Oranges, why are you so "sold" on a vehicle that's so "dissimilar" ??

Well I've had 10 & 17 JKU. I really just wanted to get rid of $750 MO payment and wanted something DD and convertible and with the new power top and all. Now I have to fight between 2 & 4 door. Ugh!

I will say this.. 2 doors are a lot of fun to drive around town. Especially if you're a young professional with no kids. However, if you're older, married, have kids etc. then I'd go with the 4 door. When I had my two door I constantly had my rear seat either tumbled forward or completely removed. Simple things such as groceries needed the space. The normal truck space with the seat up in the two door leaves a lot to be desired. Also, not sure what you're looking for but another thing to keep in mind is the Sahara model is only available in the 4 door on the JL.

Congrats on your decision with the JL and welcome to the boards!

Thanks for the advice. Thing is its only a DD and my wife has the grand Cherokee and she wants the grand wagoneer or a third row. Anyhow, anything with my kids is always done in her car because they always mess up mine, lol. My wife is a stay at home mom so my car is just a driver. I rarely use the back seat. I'm still not sure. But it's a good problem to have, lol

If you rarely use the backseat definitely go 2 door. It's cheaper, lighter, better approach angles, turning radius, arguably more fun to drive, and slightly better gas mileage. Plus two fewer doors to remove, some cheaper mods (especially those that depend on number of doors and the like -think door hinges, half doors, grab handles etc). Really only downside is less space and a little less composed on pavement.

So I gave it all up, 2 weeks ago purchased a 2011 caliber with 47,000 miles for a DD until I get my JL. Yesterday on way home the engine blows. Went from driving the top to now driving this is a loaner until they fix the car

Well at least they're going to fix it I got a call today let's see what happens it's only a six-month car anyway and if they rebuild the motor with a perfectly good Dodge Caliber all for the better when I sell it somebody will have a good car

Bold move! Do you already know who you're ordering with or are you gonna shop around when the JL hits?

Yeah my dealer who took my Grand Cherokee back is holding my equity so it's going to have to be him now with these Special Edition 2018 JK's that just came out it's making decisions even harder

I wonder will that place you in a position of less strength in terms of negotiation? Hopefully you have a good dealer.
