So I have always had a love of Jeeps. Started with CJ’s on tv as a kid and continued to grow. In 2010 my wife said no motorcycle but yes to a jeep finally. So I got a 2010 black JKU Sport. Had it for 11 years. No huge issues. Heater core and clock spring. Got bump steer early so I started upgrading suspension parts. By the end I went with 2.5 Tera Flex lift with their shocks, lower control arms, and ball joints. JKS front track bar, Rockjock drag link. Pro Comp 7069 wheels and Nitto Ridge Grapplers.

So this summer I started looking for a replacement. It started to get some rot near the rear flares and at 190,000 it was time. With all the difficulties finding vehicles this year I wasn’t optimistic but I started checking around. I was looking for a few specific options first and foremost a Rubicon. I had a few that I called about that sold before I ever got a quote back. I was looking for a Sting grey or a Sarge green. My wife was not wild about the green. She said just call us GI Johnston’s. I was finally able to track one down in VA. 4 hours away. I called and made the deal over the phone and drove down the next day. Traded my JK in at 190,477.
I picked up my 2021 Sarge Green JLR with 2 miles on it and drove the 4 hours home to go straight to an 8 hour midnight shift.

Haven’t made too many mods yet but I had the Wrangler sticker’s removed, polished, and ceramic coated.

Then Woolwax under coated. Don’t do it in that order. I put a Red Rock 13” antenna on it, added a 67 Designs phone holder, and a set of Husky mats.

Last thing completed so far was adding a Quadratec hitch. I have Rugged Ridge entry guards on the way.

Build wish list

Exterior

Mopar steel front bumper
Ironman Raid rear bumper
Oracle Oculus heated led’s
Baja Designs Squadron ambers
LED tail lights( haven’t picked yet)
TeraFlex tire carrier
Maximus 3 roof rack
Black Rhino Abrams 17x9
Nitto Ridge Grappler’s 35x12.5
Redline tuning hood quicklift

Interior
Mopar aux switches
Stinger Heigh10
Metra speaker pods
SSV Works sound bar adapter
JL Audio 6.5’s for knee and sound bar
Under seat sub
LED cargo light
Tailgate table (for the range)
Ceramic window tint
Seat covers

This is what I’ve came up with so far. Time will tell how much of the list I check off. It’s going to be my daily driver and used for hunting. No plans on a lift right now. 35’s should give me plenty of clearance but I like the look of 37’s. I’m taking the rear seat out for the winter. I’ve already noticed the front seats getting dirty from hunting so I thinking seat covers at least for the front.

Great looking Jeep! I have a 2022 ordered that will look pretty similar (at least to start)! Sarge Green two door Rubicon with a black hardtop and black flares. Doesn't seem to be super popular judging from how few pictures I have been able to find of them.

Hoping to see mine before May! You never know these days...

Congratulations, I really wanted to order but I couldn’t wait. Talked to two dealers and they just gave me blank looks. And your right. Very few although there is another one driving around my town. It is making it hard to pick wheels and such though.

Nice list.

You should check out the MP concepts aluminum front bumper. Price seems right. I would have gotten this one instead of my Arcus bumper if it was out then. It includes a steel winch plate.

I have Baja designs squadron clear ones with amber covers. The flexibility is nice.
I’ve looked at it. It may replace the steel. Reviews all seem to say overly complicated install. And the finish comes scratched. Plus the color looks just a little off. Price is better though. Plus aluminum would not corrode as fast here in PA. We’ll see.

Rainy day projects. Amazon delivered early so I was able to get the tubing in the fender gap. Think the 3/8 is a little small. Seemed to go too deep. Leaving it for now. Entry guards could have been molded a bit more precise I think. I like that they cover more than the Mopar though.

Nice choice. Curious what they gave you for trade seeing as used Jeep prices are sky high right now. 2 years ago a high mile 3.8 JK with rust would have been tough to get decent money out of.

I picked out of state because the trade in was higher. Plus the dealer honors nationwide lifetime power train warranty. I added 100,000 everything else. The finance guy told me as long as I had a dealer or licensed installer do the work they would honor it. He also told me I got away with murder. They gave me 8 in trade.

Winter time projects. AJT Design fob. Pain in the a$$ to put together. Broke the old fob getting the rfid chip out. Then couldn’t get the battery to stay put to get it together. I do like that it’s thinner and a whole lot lighter. Surefire flashlight for those that may ask what the other is.

Redline hood props arrived. Hopefully get them on today. Bumper should be ordered before Easter. Who knows show long that’ll take.

Got the Redline hood lifts in a month ago. Left the old prop for now.

I’m a bit of a knife nerd so had to add the Gerber strap cutter. Put hard side of Velcro on both sides so I can put it in either way.
