Installation of Part # - RBB-10242 (No Sensors)

The bumper doesn’t come with the tow hitch cutout. It is, however, very nicely marked for you to make a few simple cuts to make room for the hitch.

Handy drawing for this is below.

Got it installed.

If you have a hitch on your Jeep, you'll need to do a couple extra things.

  • Remove bracket from the aft side of hitch. This can be done by removing the 2 outside bolts. (No nuts were provided to reinstall bolts. I had extra laying around.)
  • Bumper doesn’t include holes to reinstall trailer plug bracket.
  • Spacer needed for INBD bolt. (I used 2 washers.)
  • OTBD bolt hole is approx. 145mm from hitch cutout line. (I used a step bit.) Factory bolts will work here.
  • I also made the top allen bolt holes one size larger and put a washer underneath them to spread some load out.

Looks great!

Bumper looks really good! Any plans for pinch seam or exposed body between the bumper and rear wheel well?
Trimming the pinch weld to put 40's in there and I have their aluminum fenders to go on next.

The trimming will line up with the bumper so there's nothing exposed there.

Fenders went on super simple. No real trick to the rears so far. Just be careful opening up the holes on the sheet metal. Be sure to paint the metal before installing the nutserts. Otherwise, quick and easy.

They look great,, do they come with any kind of protection on the metal to keep them looking new?

Something like sharkhide is what I used to keep the metal bright and fresh looking.

Really wish they offered the front fenders just slightly wider, like they do for the jk.

Drivers Front installed. Nothing special to it except for making a little change to accommodate the AAL QD liners.

With brushed aluminum armor you can resurface it with the maroon-colored scotch brite pads. I use the craftsman brand ones from Lowe’s. This is what Genright recommends and it’s what I do with aluminum metal cloak armor on my LJ.

Absolutely. The ease of maintenance and no coating required is why I went with Aluminum. That and weight, of course, but having something that will never rust is a huge plus.
