Here’s my gas mileage from a recent road trip from California to Wisconsin and back. Lots of gas stations have gasoline without any ethanol. Greatly improved my MPG. My highway driving speed was 70 mph for most of the trip.

Outstanding!! We have a few filling stations with "recreational" fuel that is 91 octane and ethanol free. My JK runs night and day better on it, with noticeable power and about a 1 mpg improvement in mileage. I haven't run it in my JL yet, but I'll try a tank before long. The problem is that right now it is around 4 bucks a gallon. Ouch!

If you run at 60-65 on a flat highway you could squeeze 24-25 out of the 3.6 M/T. I have accomplished this. Going 65 mph in a 70 mph zone is painful though.
2018 JL Sahara here with 2100 miles. On hwy I can hit 24 0r 25, in the city I get about 18.5. I drive like an old man though, but wait a minute I am old-----70 yrs old and my first Jeep. Loving it!!!!

I haven't read thru this thread so I have no idea where I stack up but here's my experience over 3,000 miles in my JLUS with 245 75 AT stock tires and no drivetrain modifications. I'm right at 22.5 MPG
lifetime, with the last 1,000 miles getting 23 MPG. This is my daily driver, suburban daily commute 70/30 highway city. I've had the soft top down for probably 1,500 of those miles.

My 2000 TJ got maybe what I calculated was 15 MPG so I'm pretty happy with the JL's gas mileage. In any event, I convinced myself I needed a more fuel efficient vehicle so for the last 10 years I drove a Subaru Forester. Needless to say, I'm much happier driving a Wrangler again, even tho it's roughly 7 MPG less effiecient.

I bought my JL in feb,. in town (no Hwy driving) I’m getting 18 mpg in my sport. I just took my 5th trip to the beach (700 round trip). I’m averaging 24 mpg towing a trailer (1000 lb) at 65-70 mph. I’ve noticed anything over 70 mph and it starts to drop every 1+ mph. I hope this helps someone trying to save on gas.
There doesn’t seem to be much difference driving between 65-70 mph but I always use cruise control.

I recently got back from a 300-mile trip consisting of 95% two-lane mountain roads with lots of moderate to steep grades. The other 5% was driven on one-lane gravel forest roads most of which I drove in 4H. There were no Interstate/highway miles involved. My JLU Sahara equipped with the 255/70R18 Bridgestone all-terrain tires and anti-slip/Dana 44 rear averaged 21.8 mpg for the trip. I'm happy with the gas mileage, so far.

P.S.- ESS, the auto stop/start feature was and always is turned off.

17.1 in JLUR so far with 1000 miles. Old JKUR was 15.9. Mixed cycle or life of vehicle mileage.

On my 125 mile drive from purchasing dealership to home I got exactly 23 mpg. Some stop and go around DC rush hour then again at home from beach traffic. Automatic transmission, and auto start stop left on.

JLU Sport S stock I was getting ~21 mpg for the first 5,000 miles. I now installed new Black Rhino rims, Falken Wildpeak AT3W 315/70r17's, side steps, and took off the euro style bumper gap covers. Without the tire size reprogramming I was getting ~16mpg, then used the Flashcal to set my tire size to 33.25. With the flash, I now get ~18mpg. Probably 90/10 highway/city.

Only have 167 miles on her so far. Mileage started out at 18 from day one, now up to 20 and seems to be climbing steadily. Still a happy camper.

I must have a heavier foot than most. I’m in the 17-18 mpg range. Highway is worse than city. As others have say, if I keep it below 65 mpg is above 20. I simply cannot stay there. I try and then there comes a Prius :surprised: and off I go. :giggle:
Not crazy either, I stay within 10 mph of the limit. But it makes a big difference in mpg.
