I've done a DC to NH round trip four times, each time averaging 24mpg or higher except one time the return trip was really windy and I only got 21. All of those times I was driving 80mph whenever possible.
My experience has been similar. I drive like Gramps and am currently at 23mpg for 1100 miles. I rarely go over 65 and don't speed on the side roads. I also take it slow out of the blocks at lights and let the youngins do their thing (speeding and shaking their heads in self righteous indignation as they pass me).

No surprise there. Drag increases exponentially with speed, and considering the Wrangler has the aerodynamics of a brick on wheels . . .
What he said. Mine varies more than 5 mpg on the same road at the same speed depending on wind conditions

Did you use the dash info or calculate ACTUAL miles/gallons? Seems very high.

so I was doing some highway driving yesterday in my rubicon stock wheels on I 95, set cruise to 70 mph and checked the mpg via the computer, it was a bit breezy but I managed a steady 22 mpg over about 10 miles. I decreased my speed to 65 mph and reset the mpgs and the computer displayed 25 to 27 mpg over the next 10 miles. I was really surprised to see the mileage increase from a 5 mph decrease. I need to try this on a longer drive to see if I get the same results. Anyone else getting this mileage from slower highway speeds?
Which engine?

I did a 650 mile round trip, a couple of weeks ago, with lots of rain and wind. . I set mine at 70 mph, and hand calculated my mpg at 24.5 mpg. The computer said 24.7 mpg. I was pretty loaded down, with the family, and luggage. Then again, i have a JLU Sport S. Auto.
3.6 or 2.0 engine?

Going From San Diego to Phoenix, I was able to register 55MPG in my '08 Challenger SRT 6.1L while driving down into the Imperial Valley. Point being you will get wildly varying results due to ever-changing environmental conditions.

I've been trying to drive slower to get bigger mpg, so far im averaging 22 mpg, I know it would be better if my drives were longer on the highway, I'm guessing I could get 24 mpg. This is with a stock JLUR

The way I drive, getting about 17-19 mpg highway on my stock drivetrain JLUR, my JKUL got about 14-16 mpg.

Aero laws of physics dictate that to double the speed, you need 4 times the power. Think about that effect on fuel consumption going from 35 mph to 70 mph. But then, I didn't buy a Jeep because they were economical. Mine isn't getting 20 mpg. Probably more like 16. I don't care. I would have bought a Prius if I cared...and I hate Priusususus.

Aerodynamics affect all cars. Aero drag is proportional to 1/2 of the density times the square of the velocity (in standard units, aka m/s). The aero drag at 70 mph is 15% higher than at 65 mph. Your consumption jump to 25 mpg is what is expected.
