My wife has a 2018 JLU Sahara and it gets 22-23 at 70 mph. I have a 2018 JLU Rubicon and it gets 18 at 70 mph. The gearing really makes a difference! And maybe the lighter wheels and tires the Sahara has.

so I was doing some highway driving yesterday in my rubicon stock wheels on I 95, set cruise to 70 mph and checked the mpg via the computer, it was a bit breezy but I managed a steady 22 mpg over about 10 miles. I decreased my speed to 65 mph and reset the mpgs and the computer displayed 25 to 27 mpg over the next 10 miles. I was really surprised to see the mileage increase from a 5 mph decrease. I need to try this on a longer drive to see if I get the same results. Anyone else getting this mileage from slower highway speeds?
Do you have the 4 or 6 cylinder? I have a Rubi Unlimited 6 cylinder and don't seem to get close to that. More like 18-19 and everything is stock.

Man, I only get 18 on the highway in my JLU Sahara no matter how fast I drive.

In my experience there is definitely a sweet spot around 55mph. Took my JLUR on a 4000 miles trip from Missouri to Cali and back. Drove out on route66 (I-40) and back on I-70 I messed around a lot with different speeds and different fuels. Places like AZ and UT where you get run down for not going 90mph definitely hurts mileage. Also experimented with ethanol free gas and that had the best result keeping me around 19mpg even thru Colorado on the way back. Total trip average with 2 adults a 70lb pitbull and loaded down with gear still pulled almost 17mpg vs my 2door JKRecon on the same trip that maxed out around 13mpg. Personally I am very happy with the improvement! Sure its no prius but no kids ever going to look back and say dad, you remember that vacation when we got 35mpg although trying to take the prius wheeling would be memorable! haha

Driving from Buffalo to Billings at 80 in the winds we have, with my lift and tires the best I can get is in the mid 14’s! Now if I slow down to 65 it’ll be around 17-18.

My 18 JLUR with v6 gets right at 21 at 65mph but drops to mid 17s at 75mph.

Watch RPM's keep them under 2000 rpm's and you'll do better than Cruise Control, works every time!

Long downhill with wind behind drafting a big rig is right!, Some down hills I get 80mpg. with foot off the pedal!! lol

Go jeep!!!

I noticed this a while ago with my stock JLUR, when I drive in the fast lane, driving around 75-80 mph I would have 18 mpg, now I drive 65-70 mph, take my time, coast to stop at red lights, light on the gas pedal, I'll even put it on manual mode and keep it in 8th gear so it doesn't shift out of it on the highway, by this I avg 21 mpg and my commute is only 22 miles each way.

I've only had my JLUR for a couple of weeks. Just hitting 1000 miles. In STL, the roads are not all even by any means. I drive 80% highway and 20% city. I've yet to have a gas of tank average 17 mpg. I've even made an effort to not drive like I have in all of my other vehicles. I'm sure if the highways were all level I would do better. Maybe it gets better with age?

This is my 3rd Unlimited and by far the best one so far. I'm really enjoying being back in a jeep.

This will be my 4th wrangler, and although I don't have it yet, I have found wranglers to get better gas mileage and smoother, quieter (engine noise) after the break in period. My current jk has over 100,000 miles, has a smoother ride than when she was a young pup;)

I drive 200 miles per day in my Wrangler. When I've got the time I play around with mileage and speed it has been considerable. 55mph - ~23mpg 70mph - ~19mpg (V6)

202/101/51/I-17 (within city limits) is never 75 mph speed limit in Phoenix. We do have 75 mph speed limits, but they're typically once you're outside the populated section of the metro area.

I.e., I have no issue going 65-70 my entire commute from N. Scottsdale down to Chandler every day. Get about 15 in the TJ (3" lift 33's) but it has a hemi. Probably would get slightly better with the 4.0. I'm expecting with the JLUR 2.0 at the same speed I'll probably get 18-19.

That's what I love about North Dakota too!
LOL - I fell asleep a couple times driving to ND and didn’t even get out of my lane.

I've done a DC to NH round trip four times, each time averaging 24mpg or higher except one time the return trip was really windy and I only got 21. All of those times I was driving 80mph whenever possible.
