Hey all,

So this is a weird one, but figured I’d ask before my OCD drives me nuts and I take apart the tail light to dig into this if it’s not normal.

yesterday while putting gas, I noticed that I could slightly (I’ll show in pic) see the cavity that the pin/notch of gas cover resets into when installed
This being a rubi...This came stock on the rubi, so not something I installed.
Anyone else’s look like this? (where you can slightly see the cavity)

or am I the only lucky one lol?

note it is flush to the body and not a gap as one may think is the culprit as shown in this photo

So pretty confused on what’s the deal.

figured I’d ask, I’ve never noticed it before, so may have always been this way (although I doubt it should be this way)

so again anyone else have this as well? Is it normal? before my ocd drives me to take it off and inspect.

don’t want water getting in there if it will be an issue.

Thanks
Jay

Here is a video to better describe what I’m talking about that I can see.

It’s mentioned at 2:03 of the video

I would check to make sure all your locking tabs are engaged.
Thanks...Yea I tried that, Pushed all around...they’re engaged. Almost as if the cover is slightly sagged?
It’s only visible when standing directly over that cover

other wise the cover seems completely flush to the body.

Any other ideas? As I mentioned it’s a weird one. Doesn’t make sense that it would be that way

I returned 2 aftermarket fuel door because all 3 tabs failed to lock into place. Each one had a different tab issue.

Both my 18 JLUR and 19 JLUR look like that. Never had an issue and TBH, I've forgotten about it until I read this. Nothing to worry about, except you have OCD, so that's probably not going to help! :)

Mine fits tight as can be with no sign of a gap from any angle. No sign of bubbles in the paint either. :turkey:. (YET)

Later,

Listen show off!! Lol

there isn’t a gap on mine either, which is why I’m puzzled.

As for the bubbling paint.... 😢

bye Johnny
