The more I look at the Gecko, the more I love the color. Gorgeous jeep! I’m still waiting on my build since 8/28 😢
Did you order a Gecko too?

Today was the first set of mods.

Light on mechanical complexity but helpful and peace of mind none the less.

First things first, the one that had the most mechanical complexity, even then fairly basic lol

Redline hood struts from Quadratec.

After that it was Rugged Ridge door sill guards. I preferred these over the Mopar ones for the amount of coverage.

And while I didn’t take pictures I installed the front driver and passenger Mopar grab handles. The rear ones can wait for another day.

Hope you enjoyed this update!

Installed my set of ACE Engineering rock sliders. Functional, let me keep the Rubi rails and also act as a step. Love ‘em.

Been a bit with the holidays and all. But for Christmas I got the quadratec LED ring for the tire carrier. So today I, last day of vacation, I took the opportunity to install it.

It probably took me a little longer than most people.

Primary reason: the lug nut with the lug key just did NOT want to break free. But I finally found my half inch drive with the long handle and it broke free.

Secondary reason: I’m a little particular about wiring and cleanliness and protecting the wires so I took my time routing and bundling the cables. Then of course the engineer in me has to check after every adjustment to make sure they still worked.

Overall happy with it. And the y-harness they include if you buy that version makes things a breeze. As does the illustrated directions.

Congratulations. Don't park it on your lawn. You will never find it. 🤣

Just some minor updates.

Installed my Maximus stealth front license bracket. I didn’t want to drill into the bumper even if the area is plastic. Just. No. Lol

Also got some Weather tech HP liners and installed them.

That’s it for now. I have a backlog of some things to install. I will be getting to those soon.

Dead pedal
Diode dynamics side markers
Hinge protectors

Long term: settled on the wheels I want to buy. Want to try and score some half doors etc.

New shoes installed!

I’ll update with the deets because I forget at the moment. But I went with vision flows. On stock tires for now.

The wheels are: Vision Flow 17x8 5-127 +30

Tire poke is subtle but that’s what I wanted cause I didn’t want to increase the road debris slinging. Love ‘em so far. Don’t let the pictures online fool you. These are darker then the studio shots imply.

I’m super giddy. Found a somewhat local guy selling these half doors for an absolute steal.

Now to call around and find an experienced aluminum shop to paint these gecko.

I’ll have to make some mods though. Doesn’t have prox unlock or BSM. So I’ll have some fun tearing them down in the mean time to add those functions in.
