That is so bizarre!!! I can throw my steering wheel hard over, as far as it will go left or right, and not only are my 33s not rubbing, but I’ve got about two more inches of clearance to the closest point! And that is with an unaltered stock air dam and bumper!

What could be the difference? I am TRULY puzzled!
Non-stock rim offsets?

Non-stock rim offsets?
No sir; no rim offsets, and the tires are mounted on the black stock steel rims. The plot thickens...

With the Teraflex lift kit and 33's you have to Realign the Steering wheel and front end.
I'm confused, the Teraflex website says that an alignment is not necessary with the 1.5" spacer lift???

Going with the BFG KO2 33's tires with the Lift at the same time you should realign your Steering Wheel and front end. They will be off from the Stock alignment. I did my install with 4 Wheel Parts. They fully recommend it. I know the manager personally.

No, I am thinking the person who is having/had rubbing issues is because they have non-stock rims/offsets.

I don't have any rubbing issues either using the Rubi take offs.

Or possibly a wider footprint? My Toyo Open Country A/T 285/70R17s are 11.5” wide.

I know this has been asked, but the answers have been various, with lots of “No, it can’t be done without a lift.” It can.

Today I had new Toyo Open Country A/T II P285/70R17s put on to replace the pizza-cutter-stock “A/T” (dubious) tires. They fit great! At the closest contact point I have more than two inches of clearance.

Specs: Diameter 32.8”, width 11.5” (they barely stick out past the fenders), load rating 2833 lbs, max speed 118 mph, weight 48 lbs.

I am now trying to decide if I need to have the dealership reset the ECU due to 1” increase and bigger footprint. The speed gauge is off approximately 1 to 1.5 mph in normal driving range. The auto 8-speed seems to be hitting the shift control points the same. I would appreciate y’alls thoughts on that. Thanks. Chatting here takes my mind off of hurricane prep ;)

I had the same rubber on my FJ Cruiser; I loved them! It’s a pretty aggressive tread for an A/T, but road noise on my Jeep is only a slight growl, and the machine tracks beautifully at 36 psi.
I have been running 33’s on my sport s for about 8 months now. I have wheeled it a few times over fairly rugged terrain and have not scrapped once so in my experience you shouldn’t have any issues. As far as the speedo goes just bite the bullet and get a Taser, it is worth it for all the things you can adjust with it.

Not all tires are true to their size. Maybe yours are slightly smaller than 33".

They are 32.8”, one fifth of an inch shy of 33. The difference is insignificant, considering I’ve got inches of clearance all the way around, over and under.

I haven't scrapped at all since installing 33's. But then I almost never got into fights anyway so not sure if it's the tires or not.

285/75R17 on stock rims. No issue with stock suspension . Also put on rubicon takeoff suspension and 1/2 inch spacers front and back. Sits at exact same hight as stock rubicon with the same tires.
I reset the speedo using super chips programmer. Actual size of tire is 32”. It took about 100 miles of driving before the transmission started constantly using 8th gear again. These are E rated so running at 29 PSI. The stock rubicon on the left has c rated tires of the exact size and type
