I’d say, the most you can haul in a 2-door, in comfort, are 3 people. The rear passenger is going to need some extra space to stretch the legs.
For 1-2 people, the 2-door can handle almost every task, including hauling all the camping gear you will need for several days. Especially with the rear seat removed.
Around town, out on the trail and on two-lane mountain roads, the 2-door is a lot more fun to drive. On long drives at freeway speeds, the 4-door wins hands down.
