Won't that loop eye get in the way?
I've had it for a couple years, on trails, rocks, etc. with no interference. It's sandwiched a bit between the pan & a skid plate. Eventually I'll replace with a gun magnet since it's stronger than expected.

The "...space between the battery and fender..." Never heard of that. Do you zip tie it in or trust it won't wall out?
Iā€™ve got the 3.6. Not sure if the 4cyl and the diesel have the same setup

I'm looking at doing oil change #2 in a couple months, so wanted to decide now on which plug brand I'm going to go.

The forum search seems to show more chatter about Fumoto, I like the "idea" of the Valcomax with the tube, but I guess keeping track of the screw on tube (i.e. remembering where you stored it) could be an issue.
I purchased the Fumoto because it doesn't depend on an external part for operation. The Fumoto accepts a vinyl drain tube if I prefer to attach one, but I'm not compelled to do so as I would be with the ValvoMax (which is advertised as a "system".)

I don't want a system. I just want to drain the f'ing oil. :) No complaints about the rate of flow, either.

I would have never thought of using the engine compartment for storage of anything. Very creative.

All good feedback on this forum... I'm still torn, but guess $26.78 for Fumoto (short) vs $49.99 for Valvomax might help me decide.

@webwbr

Fumoto oil drain valves have been around... have been sold for over 27 years.
Fumoto has sold well over 15 million Fumoto Oil Drain Valves!

Fumoto has been in business for that long, as their valves are that good. Not known to fail and they do the job well..... AND, they are reasonably priced..

Buy the F106S: Short Nipple Oil Drain Valve for your JL.

Don't forget about Femco. Its much lower profile than Fumoto.

I've used Fumoto for 20+ years but thought it stuck out a bit too much from the oil pan from the Jeep.

the Femco compact sticks out about as much as a standard drain plug.

It seems the best solution is for me to buy two more Jeeps. Iā€™ll put a Fumoto in one, a Valvomax on the other and a Femco on the third.

Iā€™ll love them all, and will be the envy of everyone on the Forum. šŸ˜›

Thanks all for the feedback!
