Hey guys... I've never been a huge underbody detailing guy but after 3 years of CO offroading have a layer of grease and grit under the jeep never seen before on my other vehicles. Would it be better to use a hot pressure wash and relube or just leave that stuff on there and re-grease everything again?

Whatever you do.... I'll swing by and you can do mine too! :D
I'd hate to wash off off the road grease which is probably helping to grease everything else under there at this point lol

Here's my routine up here in Canada.....

We'll start with the cleaning ( which I do every spring) since that's your question.

-Get engine degreaser and spray it everywhere unerneath going around the jeep.

-By the time you've been around, the spray is doing its job. Then as you suggest, starting where you started applying the engine degreaser, use a pressure washer and spray the crap out of it.

-Go for a few highway drives or even better, wait a few days for the undercarriage to dry completely.

-Get a few cans of black rust spray paint and spray over the rust spots you find. (I use tremclad cause I know it works)

- Before the first snow, I buy 4-5 cans of rust proofing cans and liberatly spray the undercarriage

Repeat every year. I've been doing that forever on all the Jeeps I've owned and my undercarriage is honestly as nice as a Jeep that hasn't even seen 1 winter.

Good luck.

I'm going to town on it today and re-grease everything.. I try to clean everything up pre-winter and after season every year. We 4x4 from like July to December (dependent on the weather) then clean everything up and winterize.

You eastern Canadiens know your stuff for sure! I'll have to check out this tremclad. I'm just a poor USA upper desert/Rockies guy who doesn't get a constant spray of salt every year.

I grew up in south Louisiana near the gulf.. I can only imagine you FL guys need rust protection way more than anyone in the lower 48. I saw entire suspensions and truck beds rot out in less than 10 years.

saltwater and spray will eat your entire vehicle.
