I live in rainy Washington State and often wonder if Jeep would be successful if they made a full steel roof Wrangler with a fixed windshield? Let's say it's about $3,000 cheaper than the JL removable tops. I would consider it.

Or would it flop like the Hummer and FJ?

sounds blasphemous tbh lol. i feel like open-air environment drives maybe half of jeep sales. maybe more? probably lol. sounds like if someone wanted that they would just pick up something that wasn't a wrangler.

I hate the idea. However there are lots of people with hardtops that have never and will never remove the top. If it makes them happy why not.

It is hard to imagine it would be that much cheaper than the 3 piece Freedom Top.

I'm also in the NW and there is no way I would give up going topless. Doubt it would be any cheaper. Definitely not $3000. Don't forget they would have to paint that steel.

Hmmmm. After a little thought, I think I can see a way to knock down the price a bit.
I beginning to see some potential savings.

if you never take the top off and you don't rock crawl there are a lot of vehicles to cross-shop that probably offer a better vale than the Wrangler.

Just get a compass or renegade.
You can't stuff 35s on a stock Renegade or Compass. You wouldn't lose any off road ability just fewer top leaks. From what I've read the power top is going to be non-removable. Maybe a panoramic sunroof?

Well it's removable Jeep just recommends that you don't because it's difficult to align it.
