Hello all
Is there anyone who is disturbed by the volume of the gas tank on JL/JLU?
Would you prefer a larger tank volume? Or do you think it's enough?

I guess I don't recall a time in my life where I was more than 300 miles from a gas station, and it's the largest gas tank of any vehicle I've ever owned, so I'm OK with it.

Larger, by maybe 5 gallons. It gets tricky going through some of the less populated areas. Plus, gas in those remote towns is questionable.

It's exactly half the capacity of the tank on my '97 Ram 1500. Fortunately, it gets just about twice the mileage, so it's all good.

I would love a little more capacity. Coming from a Ram 3500 with the 5.9L diesel and a 31 gallon tank it’s been quite a transition. My range has been reduced by half. Not complaining, I knew this going in. Just requires a little more planning. It’s only a concern when I’m in remote locations conducting SAR operations. Looking forward to an aftermarket Rotopax mount for a stock JL!!

Thank you all for sharing and I would like to ask if there is a larger fuel tank sold in the market? Has anyone ever used this place make it an extra fuel tank?

For me I find that the current fuel tank has a small size and needs an increase in its absorptive capacity.

im fine with the current 300+ mile range the fuel cell is offering. I also carry 3.5-7 extra gallons on my trips that is good for atleast another 125 miles.

Got a V8 Ram and an A4 with upgraded fuel pumps that go dry at a 1/4 tank, so the range doesn't seem too bad.

That said, be nice to have a bigger tank, oem or aftermarket

I think at least a 25 gallon tank would've been nice to have...or at least the option for a larger tank if that's what someone wants. My Ford F-150 4x4 came standard with a 36 gallon tank otherwise I think I believe it's 26 gallons.

My problem with it is that it should be a 21.5 gallon tank, but the meter only functions for about 2/3 of that.

If you take off the factory muffler, and run a over the axle, out the back pipe ("Muffler Delete" pipe) that space could be used for an auxiliary tank, extra storage, water tank, whatever..
This was done in the JKs, and should translate to the JLs soon.
