Fuel Door for 2023 Sport

Does anyone know what fuel door will work with a 2023 JL Sport 2dr. Mopar can’t confirm any will work. I’ve received conflicting information about part Mopar parts 82215123AB and 68330920AE, and been told aftermarket is a crap shoot.

Thanks, I’ve looked at the videos. I’ve tried one mopar version, but the bottome clips wouldn’t fully engage with the body wall so it was loose and would pop out with pressure from gas nozzle when filling up

i just bought one on aftermarket one on amazon. tons of them with lots of reviews. installed and fits fine.

Thanks, the mopar one didn’t fit correctly, so I went aftermarket as advised and it seems to fit better, though the attac for the cap is on the back not the side so it makes the tether even shorter.

You can purchase a longer tether.

I forgot to mention in my last post that you may be able to change the attach point for the tether on your fuel door offering.

You unplug the tether's end from your fuel door offering and see if there is a position on the fuel door offering that works better.... if you find a position that does......THEN, you drill a small wholein the offering and plug the tether in the hole you drilled.

I bought the real thing from Mopar for just over $200 Canadian dollars because I wasn't confident in the wide variety of reviews on Amazon options: lots of people saying "wish I just bought the OEM option" because of poor fitment or quality. I went ahead with the buy, but I cringed so hard my nuts retreated into my stomach when I entered my credit card info to spend that kind of dough for a stupid fuel door. I guess we'll see how well it fits when I get my Jeep.

You can buy a replacement/longer tether for the Mopar gas cap with 5" tether..

Longer gas cap tether 7 3/8" Part# 52030377AB (you carefully remove the 7 3/8" tether from this cap that is not for a JL and place it the tether itself on your current fuel filler cap that has the much shorter tether. Again, with this approach you do not use the cap... you are just removing the 7 3/8" tether and placing it on your current cap.

For 5 inch. The part number is 68484447AA (tether and cap both aok to use) This is the fuel filler cap you would buy if you need to replace your fuel filler cap that came from the factory when it fails and it will fail someday.. This part number superseded/replaced by number for 68339342AA .
