Hey all, I want to pull the trigger on these rims. Looking at going with a 18x9 with a 35x12.5 Tire. Won’t be getting a lift for the time being (if this factors into people’s responses) so keep this in mind with the -12 v + 1 offset

I want some poke but I don’t want a whole lot. If I go with a +1 will their be any rubbing? I spoke to a local jeep shop on the phone this afternoon and he feels I Amy get some rubbing with a +1…. as he was saying -12 might suit me better to avoid rubbing on no lift.

won’t be doing any heavy off roading

I guess ontop of all that part of my question is, is there a huge difference between a -12 v +1 offset as if not maybe I’ll just do a -12.

or any pros/cons of both in my situation?

Also pics would help for comparison if any have these offset and care to share how far out either one sits.

Thanks in advance

I went with 17x9 Fuel Rebels on my 4xe with a +1 offfset, there was no rubbing with my Clayton lift (or before I lifted).

Awesome. How long did you ride with it before lifted?

And by chance do you have a closer pic that shows how far the tires stick out.

looks great btw 👍🏼

I’d go 17s in +1.

+18s, 35s, pre lift. Little over a half inch closer in than the +1s would be.

I would go straight to 37s.

Also, there is only 1/2” difference between the -12 and +1 to answer your question.

Haha, Yea I probably will eventually move to 37’s….just not before I get a lift.

So just to confirm…with my current set up Rubicon, stock suspension +1 I won’t have any rubbing? (Avoiding any heavy off roading)

You’ll be fine on road, really probably good it you don’t disconnect.

Really recommend straight to 37s if you are considering it. I lost a good chunk of money swapping a few thousand miles in.

Yea and I appreciate the heads up. Just can’t do both right now…and figure a lift with stock 33’s would look funny . So I’m giving the old 35’s no lift a try for now. On the “glass half full” side ….all in all you’ll need new tires again eventually, so at the moment it may seem like a waste if I switch to 37s pre maturely (tire life span) but I’ll just pretend I needed new ones at that moment 😂

thanks again brother, really appreciate your time!

17” -12 Fuel rebels with 37’s. This is on Rubi axles but with sport flares. I think the rubi flares are a bit wider.

If you think you are going to go to 37’s or going to do a lift, hold off and go straight to 37’s. I bought 3 sets of tires in 10 months to finally end up at 37’s.

The flares on this pic are sport? And I know Rubis have the higher flares but are they also wider? I don’t know this (I guess it makes sense)

Thanks

Yeah these are sport flares. My rubi flares are in the box in my garage still. They are 3/4” wider so there will be alot less poke. Probably about 1/2 a tread worth. And yes these are 37” KO2’s.
