Question for the group - I see several posts about installing the Curt or DrawTite front hitch, but I haven't seen any that deal with the steel bumper group. This has the steel bumpers, but also a steel shroud underneath vs the easily trimmable plastic.

Can someone who has installed either the Curt or Drawtite on a JLUR with front steel bumper/shroud please share some info on your process and outcome?

Thanks!

The steel shroud your referring to is the skid plate or that stamped piece that mounts with the rivnuts between the frame ? And what's the difference between cutting away steel or plastic besides which blade to use ?

Skid plate. Was really just looking to see which one people used of the two front hitches and any tips.

I did go with the Draw Tite front hitch receiver. I will say that for my 2020 Rubicon, the instructions were a bit off. There are no weld nuts for the front left and right bolts. Seems functional, but cutting the steel air dam / skid plate is going to be trial and error for sure. Assuming it should be put back on to protect the sway bar disconnect from the elements?

I have decided to leave the steel skid plate / air dam off. There just isn't any way to fasten the rear part of it.
