For those that have the 3 1/2" Metal Cloak game changer lift installed....are you using the stock drive shaft or going with aftermarket.... any clearance issues?

I’m going with Adan’s with my MC install. I’m going to have my shop measure and get with Adams to get the correct size.

Their standard drive shaft for the JL works perfectly as long as your under 4” which the gamechanger is. My local shop keeps them in stock so I just picked one up from them. Works great.

You’ll need the aftermarket drive shaft. I was going to do like I did on my jk and wait until the boot tore. I saw how bad it looked while I was installing the lift and went an picked up an Adams before the week was done. I doubt it would have made one Offroad trip without issues.

Just note that the MetalCloak DS is a 1310 vs the 1330 that is OEM for the the 392. Rather than downgrading DS strength, especially with the 392 torque, if you are changing out the 392 OEM DS, consider ordering a 1350 from Adams, Tom Wood, or local DS shop. A 1350 DS is not yet offered by MC as of Oct 2021 or I would have ordered directly from them (MC fanboy here).

I was referring to the adams drive shaft not the metalcloak. I’m sure the MC is fine but I can get the adams ds for much cheaper (club discount) and I know how tough the adams ds is from experience. And how great adams customer service is. And yes I’m a MC fan myself. I have the gamechanger lift in my Jeep now. I’m very impressed.

.And yes with a 392 I’d go with the 1350 u-joint. No Doubt. I guess I didn’t realize I was in the 392 section as I clicked on the topic from the new thread section and I didn’t look at the top of the page for which section this was in.

And by “standard” drive shaft I meant not a custom length. I should have been more clear. Adams has a “standard” ds in 1310 and 1350.
