IDK, next time you have the cover off use a magnet and fish around in there and see if you find any more. Also, look at the ring and pinion, if some of that went through it I’m sure it would leave a mark on the gears.

I did not. I stuck my fingers in and felt around. I’m inclined to just take it to Jeep and let them do it at this point. Thoughts?
Any info from dealer? I just found the same shavings in my front diff.

Not normal. Maybe swarf from machining the holes for the mounting bolts or drain plug hole that wasn’t cleaned out on the assembly line?
Yeah, looks like chips from lathe turning. Maybe from boring the bearing race seats.
