I see that the HD front axle on the XR package has steel C's and CV joints like the 392. Does it also have the FAD delete like the 392? I have read alot of info but haven't read this.

That's where the housing breaks ( at the FAD joint .) I have not seen one in person, just on-line. Not sure of the tire size and how hard they were pushing it to break.

Kinda makes sense if you think about it. Why disconnect the axle shaft if its full time 4x4? I would assume it be the same story for the regular rubi with full time 4x4? Either way the XR has stronger tubes and should be stronger at the FAD. It would just be nice to have less complexity

My understanding is that for the 392s the FAD box is still there but its a single axle piece going through it.

so its still a weak point in the front axle but slightly less complex.

Confirmed:FAD on full time 4x4 XR, and it’s got wires to and what looks like a controller it so I’m guessing it’s active and not blocked off like the 392.
