I just picked up my 18' JLU used but didn't come with the factory freedom panel storage bag.

Comparing options and it looks like the 2 best ones are the factory Mopar and the Rugged Ridge (unless I'm missing something).

Mopar:

Rugged Ridge:

What are the pros / cons of each?
It looks like maybe the Rugged Ridge might be easier to get the panels in and out which would be huge.

I'm don't have a hard top JL, but I do have a hard top JKU and the bag that came with our new JK looks identical to the rugged ridge one. It's really pretty simple to slide in the freedom panels.

Why not ask dealer to provide them to you since they should come free?

I picked it up with only 1600 miles on it but had to drive 2 hours away to get it. I asked the dealer which isn't official a Jeep dealer and they said they don't have them.

Call your dealer. They owe you a bag with your hard top. This has happened to a few members here and they called and the dealer got them the freedom bag.. should come standard with all hard tops

Edit- just read the last post. I missed it before posting. I enjoy my mopar one that came with the Jeep though

The Mopar one is good and easy to use once you get the orientation of the panels right.

I just use a short ratchet strap and gently tighten them against the back seat using the brackets that people use for car seats

Looks like a lot of used 2018’s are actually starting to pop up. Looks like my day is coming!

You can have my Mopar bag for $50. Used once. Way too bulky for me. The panels aren’t made of crystal. They’re fiberglass.
PM me if you want it.

Thank you, will let you know.

I'm torn because I like how the Rugged Ridge is foldable to keep in the Jeep at all times vs. the Mopar ones blocking rear view if I left them in vertical when not in use.

The Mopar is a bag with a foam/rigid piece in the bottom. Meaning, it is foldable, and doesn't block the rear when not being used.

Oh that's awesome. Can you take a pic of it folded for me in it's smallest shape?

Trying to see what it would fit in and where I would store it in cargo area. Think it would fit in rear roll bar strapped bag?

It’s still way too bulky and overbuilt for the job at hand, in my opinion.
But space is at a premium in my Jeep.
I camp in it, with two big dogs.
Stuff has to earn space.
The bag doesn’t. Not even close.
It’s a gynormous solution to a tiny/nonexistent problem.
