Does anyone know of an aftermarket Rear Bumper for the JLU that has a Hitch mounted to the frame instead of to a crossmember like the Mopar one?
If the Bumper is frame mounted, and has an 'integrated' Hitch, does that count as a "Frame Mounted Hitch"? Are there any hitches the mount to the Frame?
Am I searching for a unicorn here? I can find Frame Mounted Rear bumpers that accommodate the factory hitch, but that's not what I'm looking for if the hitch is still mounted to the crossmember.

(this should probably be under Exterior Mods)

There are many rear bumpers with a hitch. Heck, Roam has 3. Honestly, there are probably too many to try to list here. Check out The Aftermarket Bumper List.

Thank you. I can't tell that any of the bumper on the list has the hitch mounted to the frame, instead of 'compatible with factory hitch'.

You are right, Exterior Mods. I'll move it if I can.

I would believe that would count. The bumper is mounted to the frame; the bumper contains a hitch.

I missed the part about Class III; Roam's says Class IV. LOD's states "Built-in replacement tow hitch receiver (Tow rated same as stock 3500 Lbs.)", so that's II. Without reading each one, I'm not sure which are III+ vs just II.

Thank you I've read until my eyes are bleary. Will keep on though.
Can't figure out how to move my thread.

I'm not sure what class it is, but I have the Rock Hard 4x4 rear bumper. it has a "Tow Rated" hitch and has loops to attach safety chains to. https://www.rockhard4x4.com/product_p/rh-90300.htm
As I'm sure you've seen in your research, some bumpers that have hitches are not tow rated and don't have the loops for the safety chains. I like the RH4x4 because it retains the license plate and gets the hitch and the tow harness out of the way for ground clearance.

I like it! And I like that the electrical connections are up out of the way. The stock ones just hang down.

Yeah, I love it. The only downside with this bumper is that it doesn't have the recess for the spare tire so you'll have to get a spare tire carrier that raises the spare. And that, of course, impedes your rear view out the back. I went with the Ace stand-alone spare tire carrier as a solution, but you could just get Rock Hard's own spare tire relocation bracket for much less.

Good to know. When I tow my trailer, I can't see out the back anyway.

I know Roam offroad has 3

Jeep Wrangler JL Frame Mounted Rear Bumper with Integrated Class III Hitch wantlist.roam
found this thread looking for a frame mounted class 3 hitch.
this one is marked class 4... but upon calling roam, they summarized
that while they built a class 4 frame spanning hitch that also thinks
it's a bumper, legal reasons make it necessary to classify it with jeeps
classification for the OEM receiver, which is class 2.

and.... they are backordered with no idea when they are available.
sounds like that is their standard thing, based on other reports.

sad. i looks like a decent solution. i want to pull something about
5,000 lbs. the gladiator is rated to 4,500 lbs. and the rubicon is 3,500 lbs.

curt makes a receiver that uses crossmember attachment and is good
with a WDH to 4,000 lbs. $80 on amazon.
