I have the Mopar 2” lift and it comes with the Fox Shocks, but these are way to soft for off-road use. Very disappointed with the lift, to much body roll.

The fox shocks listed here aren't the same as those in the Mopar lift.

Just curious, which company manufacturers Fox shocks? Or does Fox make their own? Thanks.

When do you people at Northridge expect to have these Fox shocks in stock that are sized for an OEM stock JL 2 door Rubicon?

No official ETA on those yet.

Looks like the next Fox products coming in are the steering stabilizers in about two weeks or so, hopefully the FOX985-24-171 & FOX985-24-172 0-1.5" shocks will be soon after!

I have the same thing. We've had the Jeep 4 months now and found it funny some vendor was excited about getting these in.

Troll on??? How the hell is someone going to know that they are different? Must be nice to be a know-it-all snob!

The reason for the excitement is that the JL Fox shocks are now available to the aftermarket. So those people who didn't get them on their JL from the factory can now get them!

EDIT**

I checked with our contacts down at Fox. They said the biggest difference is the Fox shocks that come in the Mopar lift kit are a 2.5" body diameter vs. the 2.0" dia. these shocks have.

They say the ride quality are really similar between the two with the biggest difference being the 2.5" body shocks will have a softer start motion when you first hit an obstacle.

For those thinking their Mopar kit with Fox shocks feel too soft, we would say that Fox is usually pretty spot on with their valving (they are Fox after all) and it is probably due more to coupling them with the soft Mopar springs than anything.

Hi,

On shocks, Fox - King - Terraflex - Metalcloak..., which are best for what?

There are so many options out there, can somebody help comparing?

We have a set of the Falcons on the boss' red Rubicon and they made a huge difference in the ride quality!

We haven't tried the Fox or King shocks yet, though both those companies have fantastic reputations for building quality shocks, so until we do try them, we can only go by their reputation. We have inspected both the Fox and King shocks up close and the build quality is excellent, just as we would expect.

We don't carry the Metalcloak shocks, so we can't comment on them.

I have the Mopar 2" with Fox shocks, seems to ride fine to me. The one thing I will say is the Fox shocks in the Mopar kit seem a little too short.....

Any news on the FOX-985-24-173 availability yet? I'm very confused because multiple sites say either pre-order or out of stock, yet someone posted they got and installed at 985-24-173 back in August 2018 - https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/jlu-fox-steering-stabilizer-issue.14231/ . Were they available and then pulled from inventory? Did the person posting in that thread have the wrong part number? And what are some alternatives for non-adjustable, no relocation bracket style steering stabilizers besides the Fox 985-24-173 and RC N3 for a non-lifted JLU Rubicon?

Can they be purchased and paid for while on backorder at the current sale price to ship whenever they come back in stock?

Just got word back from Fox, they're saying late December or later on the FOX 985-24-173 (2.0 Performance Series, 18-ON Jeep JL Steering Stabilizer, IFP, 7.43")...

:surprised: Let's hope that is worst case scenario!
