Fox Shocks for the JL have arrived at Northridge!

Fox shocks for your JL have arrived, so wanted to post up the cool pics here first!

Fox lists these as best with a 2-3" suspension lift (Boost/Spacer Kit or Coil lift, doesn't matter).

Front Fox Shocks pn# FOX985-24-177

Rear Fox Shocks pn# FOX985-24-178

Fronts:

Measured stroke for the fronts: 9-1/8"

Eye to eye fronts: 26-3/8":

Rears:

Measured stroke for the rears: 10-5/8"

Eye to eye rears: 29-1/2":

We just got 10 pallets of King shocks delivered and there are some 3"-5" JL shocks in there!

Here is what Rock Krawler says is needed for their 2.5" X-Factor lift:
Shock Notes:
Generic Front Shock Length – 17-18” Collapsed/ 29” Extended
Generic Rear Shock Length - 19-20” Collapsed/ 32” Extended

Note the rears are longer than the fronts not shorter. Based on what RK suggests

After putting these shocks on my JL today at a local vendor, I can say that i am very happy with the ride using a 2.5" lift.

I was worried with not adding stablizers, but was very pleasantly surprised as they take normal road potholes at a much smoother gallop.

I would say they would work just fine. They are both shorter on the collapsed measurement, so no worries about bottoming them out.

Our post was wrong, the website is correct. I took the original pics and must've mixed the shock pics up between shooting and the original post.

One would assume that RKs recommendations are correct, it's their kit.

With the measurement listings corrected, the Fox shocks would still work, they are a little shorter on the collapsed, so no worries about crashing them on compression.

They are also shorter on extended length, so you would not get the full range of droop travel the RK allows.
