For those running this, which model did you choose--JK or JL? I am running a Synergy Relocation Kit (https://www.synergymfg.com/synergy-jeep-jl-steering-stabilizer-relocation-kit.html?category_id=4982)

I see mixed messages on this. Which is a bolt-on with the relocation kit that I am running?

If you get the one for JK then it will come with its own tie rod clamp, if you get the one for JL then you’ll have to modify it to use your synergy clamp.

Thanks @Roky! What has to be modified on the JL stabilizer to make it work? I would rather not have to replace my Synergy tie-rod clamp.

@CarbonSteel I have the JK one so pictures are moot. I can take one still if you want. In saying that, @Roky is the dude that knows all about this shit. Lol. His mall crawler isn't slowed down by silly speed bumps. ;)
No worries. Can you tell me if the tie-rod clamp (or whatever comes with the JK kit) is as stout as the Synergy clamp? I would not want to "downgrade" in the process.

Thanks!

You don’t have to use the fox tie rod clamp, you could still utilize your synergy clamp, it’s about the modification of the JL version. The JL version is shipped with bracket to mount in factory location and is a pita to swap out. Not only is it a pain to remove factory bracket but you will also need to source a new bolt to mount at tie rod end. I went this route before knowing. I sourced the bolt through online source but Steer Smarts also sells the bolt separate. Here’s a couple pics. As you can see in last pic the Fox clamp can be removed and replaced with Synergy. The existing bolt should work with Synergy (not positive though).

Many thanks for the clarification, guys. Other than the mount is the JK and JL exactly the same? The Fox clamp looks strong enough that I have no worries there and the "easy button" would be to buy the JK version and just sell my Synergy clamp.

The shocks are physically the exact same. It's just the tie rod side that differs.
May want to see how available the JK version is though. I ended up getting mine off a guy on here because the wait time was crazy a few months ago.

Pretty much same specs. Little difference in extended/collapsible length but same amount of travel. Roky has run JK version for years with no issues 👍🏻

Sorry for radio silence, went and played in the mud, (I hate mud )……. Looks like these guys got you covered. You won’t have any problem running the JK version.

When I got mine I had to get the JK version back in the day, I had to because at the time it was the only way to get the 1-1/2” clamp for my Synergy tie rod. Now everyone offers 1-1/2” and 1-5/8” and some offer 2” clamps.
I’m using my Fox clamp on my new stabilizer for a little more clearance and it looks cooler……😎

Thanks Roky. I have a MC tie-rod which is 1-5/8". Given that are you saying the JL stabilizer will bolt right up and I just can sell the Synergy clamp?

The reason you don’t buy the JL version is because it’s designed to fit in the factory location, on the JK the tie rod was the factory location.

Gotcha, I see the difference in the photos. I may be stuck buying the JL version because the JK version is MIA. @hoag4147 detailed what I need to do to make the JL fit with my Synergy clamp.

As always...thanks for the help everyone!
