I attached a pic and have a couple of ideas but thought I’d get some feedback here. See attached pic. It’s not bad yet but I’m hoping I could stop it at best or slow it down at worst. Ideas?

It’s behind the driver’s front tire at the first mounting point for the steps/factory rock rails.

Found this video about Evapo-Rust. Haven't used this before but I'm going to purchase some off Amazon.

This is good info.
If you are only dealing with surface rust, you can get a steel wire brush and remove it, sand it and probably repaint it without much worry.

I don't really have any rust, but I've been using BP Blaster Surface Shield underneath to prevent rust from starting.

A body shop friend of mine did our doors and inner panels with Wool Wax shortly after we got the rig.

Even though you can wash off the Surface Shield and Fluid Film, it does stay on more than you might think.

Our underbody has a nice barrier of trail dust on it. It doesn't look particularly nice but it adds a little more protection against the winter salt around here.

The above products creep into crevice areas and prevent rust or limit the spread of existing rust.

Rust is a bitch and it was the beginning of the end of my last Chevy truck. It started on the inside and I never saw it until it was beyond any easy repair.

I'm a lot more proactive now.

That Evapo-Rust looks interesting.

I’ll have to keep that stuff in mind for parts and fasteners.

So I’m thinking this stuff is caustic enough to need eye, hand, and breathing protection. Working underneath the Jeep in that spot, does it work fast to where you can soak a rag and wipe? Spray and wait?

I agree with @Gio use a product, similar to wool wax, BP shield, I think WD-40 makes a similar product now too, or fluid film. I've been using fluid film for 2.5 yrs now. I reapply once a year in October, it works great. No rust.

If you’re talking about ospho, it’s acidic, but not as bad as battery acid. I personally just use rubber gloves and wet a corner of a rag and wipe it on. I use eye protection when I’m working overhead like that. Follow label instructions ;)

Copy. Do you wipe it and the rust back off?
