I have had lots of issues with my Manual. I too have driven and owned many manual vehicles. This one is the worst !
1. 1200 miles: Entire pedal assembly was replaced - No Change
2. 3500 miles: Master/Slave replaced - Problem changed from ALWAYS the same to an intermittent problem
3. 6000 miles: Clutch Changed It was great for a while, but then at 10,000 miles it was sticky / hard again. It switched back and forth a few time over the next several thousand miles. Dealers (I have tried 2 of them) have not been supportive. I am now logging of the issues with date, mileage, speed, temperature....
4. Since about 16,000 miles it has been good, but I am REALLY concerned about the clutch and assembly. The throwout bearing housing is plastic ! I saw and felt with my own eyes. Really is this going to last ? ?

I didn't notice it new, but I actually had the pedal staying on the floor after ending up in more mud than I wanted (~25") a few weeks ago. Immediately after getting pulled out, I had to stick my toe behind the pedal and pull the pedal off the floor. After an hour more it would come off the floor without me pulling but was sticky, assuming this is the pedal-is-hesitating feeling you had.

Once I got home I pulled the rubber plugs at the bottom of the bell housing and flushed it with the hose a half dozen times, seems to be 95% back to normal. Not sure what the root cause is, other than maybe the pedal force is so low, it doesn't take much to overpower it and some debris clogging up the action makes it stick?

So update: they had an engineer come out from Chrysler Corp and was instructed to replace my slave cylinder. Guess it was defective from the manufacturer.

Gonna pray that this will be the answer to my problems and that it doesnt get messed up even more..
Yours sound anything like this? Or does anyones? I am almost 100% sure its my slave cylinder making that noise. Found a JK forum thread about it. same issue. The JK guys say its really no issue besides being annoying but there are a couple of solutions to grease things inside.
This is mine. Nosie when putting clutch in and out..somewhere around the middle of pedal travel

Omg dude...same here. So many stalls lol between the low torque V6 and the zero feedback clutch...this is my fourth new manual vehicle and by far the most challenging to operate properly.
Ffwd to 19k miles though and all that sh*t is long gone. Save the Manuals!
I have to agree with yours and the earlier post. I have been driving manuals my whole life and NEVER have I stalled a vehicle as many times as I have my JL. I felt so ashamed of myself. Now that I have read I am not alone, I feel redeemed. Thank you for sharing. Its not me.

My clutch is also smooth.
I bought the 2018 new (45mi) at end of April 2019.
I have no recollection of it ever being sticky.

Mine definitely has a creaking feeling when letting off at the very beginning, like a spring tensioning. Makes me wonder if removing the spring will give the clutch a stiffer feel and get rid of that creaking/sticky feeling. Only complaint I have about the manual is the lightness of the clutch.
The spring behind my clutch pedal was binding. It reminded me of a cheap r/c car's suspension. Anyways, I sprayed my spring with some silicon lube and my creaking hasn't returned after 7k miles.

Mine makes that noise. Never really noticed until now. It doesn't seem to be an issue.

That is definitely what mine *feels* like, but I don't hear anything. I will get under the Jeep tonight and have my GF push the clutch.

Iā€™ll have to drive mine to see if I can notice it. I will say, Iā€™ve been driving a MT for over 10 years. Mostly Hondas. My last car, an SI (Sadly totaled in a flood; enter the Wrangler) was what I moved over from. I remember the transition was a bit jarring at first. I was the proud owner leaving the dealership in my brand new JLU Sport and I grind 2nd for all in the showroom to see and hear.

For the first few months I wondered if Iā€™d ever warm up to the driving qualities. Now a year and change and 20K miles later it drives just fine in my book. It even has some pep to it.

One issue I do notice occasionally but not consistently is that the handbrake sometimes disengages with a loose metallic clank. Almost like thereā€™s a shroud or an arm that needs tightening. Early in the summer it was engaging with a loud metal thunk. But thatā€™s about the only issue Iā€™ve had relating to driving MT.

I had the exact same experience with mine, especially off-road the first time. Don't remember exactly when things started smoothing out, (and I stopped feeling compelled to say to people "Seriously! I know what I'm doing!") but at 11k now, it's smooth as butter.

Okay a quick update since I drove the JLU a little bit this morning. I noticed when the clutch is pressed slowly thereā€™s what feels like an implemented mechanical resistance. Possibly spring tension or fluid resistance that is present yet uniform throughout the press. I feel it when pressing it in and letting it out. Shifting normally however, that sensation is barely detectable and the shifts are smooth and uniform. I will say that the combination of the early clutch engagement and the longer throw of the shifter was a bit of a learning curve but this is after coming from my SI with a shorter throw. It felt like while the engagement of the clutch in the JL was fairly eager, there was an initial dead zone where there was a comparatively longer travel before engagement. Just some notes from personal experience moving over from a wildly different vehicle.
