Dear god why would you drive a Jeep at 80 mph for any length of time? My XR’s mileage is a solid 17-18 at 70 mph, but plunges above that to 12-13.
11k+ miles in wheeling roadtrips last year alone, including telluride, moab, tillamook, big bear, AZ, NV, etc. At 85mph, 130 hours on the road, at 70mph 160 hours on the road. An extra 30 hours wheeling each year is well worth a few dollars in gas. Time is money.

Personally, because driving slower would make my drive from Atlanta to Moab take even longer. Faster I get there, more time can be spent on the trails. Also, when you get out west some of the interstates are 80mph 🤷 Doesn't hurt that I'm still getting 23-25mpg while doing so, diesel equipped here.
Not sure why you think it is out of place, as the JL's really are pretty good at speed. At least compared to jeeps of old.
I plan on doing 80, but 4 down behind RV, it will get just under 10 mpg or on the flat ground maybe 11-12.
I will have to listen to XM Elvis channel or Johnny Cash and the 392 when we land somewhere.

In the Midwest the posted speEd limits are 80mph in between a lot of nothingness. Driving at 80 folks will be passing you.
