Planning to regear to 4.56, just wondering what rpm is engine turning when you at 80 and 85 ?

of course, with stock XR 35 in tires.

Dear god why would you drive a Jeep at 80 mph for any length of time? My XRā€™s mileage is a solid 17-18 at 70 mph, but plunges above that to 12-13.
why not. At 3.73 turning 2000 rpm at 80 and it drives just fine.

If you have driven the length of Nevada - at night - you will definitely want that monotony to end. set the cruise at 82 and enjoyed 8-10 hours of good music. And a cracked gorilla glass windshield with 400 miles on it.

No kidding. I am not in any hurry to get anywhere when I am driving the 392. I would rather sit in there listening to that motor all day than getting to somewhere listening to some a-hole telling me to wear a mask or why do I have on a mask or you are too close or hurry up!

Personally, because driving slower would make my drive from Atlanta to Moab take even longer. Faster I get there, more time can be spent on the trails. Also, when you get out west some of the interstates are 80mph šŸ¤· Doesn't hurt that I'm still getting 23-25mpg while doing so, diesel equipped here.
Not sure why you think it is out of place, as the JL's really are pretty good at speed. At least compared to jeeps of old.

4.56 is good for an ā€œactual 39-40ā€ tire on the diesel. I have 4.88 with MTR 40 (actual 39+) at speed 80+ on the highway, they are a little high for cruising.

900 miles back from PA to IL with limited time is why I cruised at 80. And you are correct... I averaged 13.8mpg lol. Shes thirsty at that speed.... but aside from that rides fantastic

Youā€˜re talking to Hemi/V8 guys why theyā€™d want to go EIGHTY?? Cā€™mon manā€¦šŸ™„šŸ¤£

And besides, here in Idaho its 80 on the highways...and if youā€˜re going less than 85 youā€™ll get everyone pissed as hell as they pass you haha

That being said, I just did a trip to Boise and back to see Tool, four hour trip each way, I was around 2400-2500 doing 82-86ish the whole way. Averaged around 19mpg.

Toll road south of Austin Tx has an 85 mph speed limit and Western Montana or Idaho also had 80 or 85. My RV gets about 9.5 mpg towing my previous 2021 Bronco and likes that speed, but my wife does not. Big open spaces need higher speeds to keep you awake. Sometimes the scenery does not change for 50 miles.

I cruise at 85mph (that's the posted speed limit) with my XR392. But I'm in Texas and its 500+ miles to where I'm going
