**Updated**
Plans change.

$3,500

I am selling my 2020 Jeep Gladiator Bed. I originally purchased the bed to build an overland trailer. It was bright white as well as my JLU. I sold my JLU today. Unfortunately plans change. Located in San Angelo Texas. Included is the full bed assembly including tail gate, tail lights, fuel door, Mopar Gladiator rear frame rails allowing the mounting of the Rubicon Steel Rear bumper that is also included. Here are some pictures of the bed and some of the parts purchased.

Here are some updated photos.

The possibilities are endless. Debating trailer axle and framing. Or go with a JLU rear axel and framing. I’m open to ideas and suggestions. Can wait to start working on it.

Wouldn't that be from a JTUR?

It would be cool if you could find the back half of a JT frame. You could use the JT suspension and could fab up some control arm mounts to use the 5 link. I think that would be the easiest, but prob priciest way to get the right look. Rear bumpers, hitches, etc would be so much easier.

Really cool project. Anxious to see it take shape

Agreed. I already have a lead on a full axle assembly/springs/shocks/control arms out of a 2019 JLU. I think that’s the route I may take. If I can get all the geometry correct. I’ll scrounge junkyards and stuff and see if I can find the back end of a frame before I go that route. But from my experience. They never really park those out much. They’re usually sold as is complete unit.

Nice find!

To keep the weight down, would it be possible to make a frame for the trailer out of aluminum?

Probably. I don’t have any aluminum welding equipment. So I’ll probably have to stick with steel.

This is awesome. I would love to find a gem like this. hell you could even throw an OEM fuel tank in there and use it for spare fuel! This will be the new standard instead of the M101 trailers. If you don't mind me asking how much was the box by itself?

I’m thinking of using the fuel access to lead to a water tank. There are lots of roto pack options for fuel. Or just build a steel fuel box. Or adapt one. I live in oilfield country. So there are all kinds of tanks around.

To my eye, the JT bed looks to set the axle too far forward to be well balanced for trailer use. Though, you could bias weight toward the trailer tongue. Locating a water tank in the alcove at the front of the bed might be a good solution.

I wouldn’t give up on the aluminum frame idea just yet - if you spit in oilfield country you’ll hit a welder

Good thoughts o. The aluminum. I can prob put an iPad out for welder. I will def out some kind of box on front for storage and aerodynamics.

that would be a smart move. by going this route, you will have a full set of replacement part "just in case" something breaks on the jl. you would be able to fix it out on the field and still be able to tow the trailer on damage part.

Well I got it home. Super happy. Great condition. Only a couple little nicks on it. It’s a lot lighter than I thought it would be. I’m not near as concerned about the CG and axle placement now.

Looks nice.... I have often weighed the option of a trailer, just too much off roading though to pull one around.....

The plan is to make it very Offroad capable.
