Florida Roll Call!

I know we all have a lot in the mix right now with getting together over the holidays and what not and I don’t want to throw another thing out there, but, here goes:

I go to the Rolex 24 EVERY year, rain or shine, cold (it usually is) or hot.

It’s really a BLAST if you like fast cars; Such an awesome experience.

So, it’s Jan 22nd through Jan 26th in Daytona Beach, FL.

Track layout for the race is below. For those who are not familiar with IMSA races it is NOT anything like Nascar.. It is more like F1 racing (which I also follow). So, don't expect to see cars going in the same boring circle all day and night...

I usually go Thursday or Friday for a little bit and then back and forth (home to track) Saturday and Sunday.

Just mentioning it now so it’s on everyone’s radar. If you’d like to meet up and have some beers and have a great time at the track let me know. Nothing crazy just fun!

If we can put together a group I’m down. It would be me and possibly the wife or oldest son. I know a guy with a TJ that will likely go as well (possibly with his wife) as 2 people (a husband & wife combo) with JK’s that know the areas well that will go also. Trying to get some more JL’s out there participating.. That’s a good tentative date though. Probably would just do Ocala National Forest areas.

Anyone else down?

Sorry... work got in the way, then I installed my inner fenders in the afternoon. It’s about 1-1/2 hour drive for us. The wife did research it though and it looks like it’s no different than what we have here, just more of it. I’m not sure what level of wheeling everybody is planning on doing, so it’s hard to make suggestions.

We have a couple hour run here on fire roads with a few spots where you can do some 4 lo stuff, but I’d hate for people to drive for hours for a short run, and have it be lame for them...here’s some pics if it helps.....I mean it’s a good time for us, we’re out there about every weekend..... but if guys are looking for more technical stuff, there’s just not any in Florida. Unless getting stuck in mud is your thing, not really mine,lol.

If any of you guys want to you can google Withlacoochee State Forest, that’s where we are. There’s a campground in one area, and a holiday inn express literally across the street from one of the entrances.......... ( my wife’s idea of ruffing it.... ) Even if we can’t get all together, if anyone wants to come here and wheel, we’d more than happy to run with you or even give you directions on where to go if you’d prefer....just pm me......
