I hate mud…..this was for the wife, she loves it, because she doesn’t have to clean it…?
Completely agree. My wife was egging me on to hit the deep tank trap mud hole that my buddy and his JT went through. No thanks, I did my time way back when. I avoid mud now lol.

Hey, I have read on here some Jeepers have driven in muddy water like this and have had all kinds of issues with Jeep after. Is that common or just happens sometimes?

There’s no guarantee you’ll have any problems…. Around here it’s sandy mud so it’s very abrasive on shock shafts, control arm bushings sway links etc….. so I make sure I spray everything off underneath even if I don’t wash the whole rig, I at least do that much….. As long as you stay on top of it, you shouldn’t have any problems….

At 11k miles my Jeep’s rear main seal started to leak. When I took it in for warranty at the stealership they gave me all sorts of grief because they knew I took my vehicle off-road and through mud.(I thought I did a great job cleaning it prior to bringing it in, but apparently mud was found in the transmission housing where the inspection holes are.) was a much bigger fight than I expected. Stealership said jeep was designed to go through water but not mud

You must have been feeling a little anxious in that last photo! I know how much you enjoy the mud?
@Roky only gets anxious when he is ahead of me for an obstacle. He knows that if he doesn’t make it, I WILL make it on the first try ? Just ask Roky!

So, are there not breather tubes on differential etc. that water and mud get inside and that's not good, correct?

Ok. Jeff, I think that his Jeep flex would outperform your flex. Is that correct??? :like::CWL:

Yeah the breather tubes are tucked up pretty high….. that wasn’t a deep hole, so no worries there… and yes if water gets in the diff its not good…

Curtis, I see what you did there. Brilliant! Here’s the thing though. I have a Rubican, @Roky has a Rubican’t. ? Seriously, we both have JLURs with comparable lifts. Our flex is pretty even, I think. Also, all joking aside, Roky is an OUTSTANDING driver; I’m just better. ? We tease each other with love and respect, relentlessly.

Curtis, to back up what @Roky said, when I first met him, he took a bunch of us wheeling at Citrus WMA. I still had my Sport JLU then, with no lift. I hit a couple of muddy water holes that were pretty deep, and I hit them hard. After, I took it to my shop and had the diffs and transfer case drained and refilled. There was not a single drop of water in any of the fluids! It was a waste of money to do it, in retrospect, but I wanted to ensure I wasn’t putting expensive components at risk.
