A little off subject, but when I was shopping around for my next vehicle (..at this age now - 61 - I'm not ashamed to say that I'm living out my fantasies one car at a time..;)), I was looking at both Jeep Wranglers as well as Toyota 4Runners. I know that the 4Runners have a big following too, but I have to admit that I've been 'overwhelmed' by the Jeep thing! It reminds me a lot of our Harley-Davidson brotherhood (I spent decades riding Harley's). Fun stuff!

There’s about a thousand ways you can go about this and you’ll get about a thousand answers.

No answer is incorrect really.

My take, you don’t need a lift to run 35’s. The Rubicon in stock forum is built to allow for 35’s on a bone stock suspension depending on tire and wheel choice of course.

If it were me, I’d throw some Teraflex .5” or 1.5” hockey pucks (spacers) front and rear and call it a day.

Wont cost ya shit.

Adding the steel front bumper, warn winch & skid will sink you about a half an inch if you don’t already have the steel front bumper that is.. Something to keep in mind.

If you’re dead set on 2.5” of lift I’d go with @Roky ’s advice. To add to the list I believe the newly revised Mopar 2” lifts are settling around 2.5” and no longer have the Spring bow issues. Another good lift is the Falcon Teraflex ST2.
I'm looking for more than just a lift for my 35's. Im worried that if I put just the Hockey pucks then I will loose articulation. I do plan on doing some serious rock crawling in Moab this May. I am also driving my Rubi out there. looks like 4 day drive each way with a BOH trail in Sedona and not sure about the BOH trails in Colorado, They may still be closed. Basically i am looking for the complete package that provides the Lift, performance on and off road, maintaining Geometry and articulation.

Hi Dave, I’ll chime in my .02 I guess. The 2 best lifts out there right now, imho, is rock krawler and metal cloak. For articulation and on the road drivability.

The rk is a little more maintenance, by this I mean you have to grease the control arms a couple times a year. The mc has a more of a bushing type joint that is supposedly maintenance free. If your looking at just raising your rig 2 “ to except taller tires, then I hear good things from the daystar 2” lift.

More of a spacer lift that you use your factory springs and shocks. It’s different than other spacer lifts because it comes with longer lower control arms and sway bar end links.

There's a ton of options out there, it really comes down to what you want out of your rig. I really like the rk xfactor lift I’m running. The on road ride is amazing. I think it drives as good as it did when I brought it home from the dealership. Well..... actually better because it doesn’t wander anymore...lol.
Thanx Rocky, I will look into those two. I appreciate the info from those with experience. If i make such a big investment then i only want to pay once. If i get this job done I'll have to get my wife a foot stool so she can climb in, lol.

Yea I had my Harley days too. last year i sold my 2002 FXSTB and bought a 2017 Heritage Softail Classic. I still have it but this Jeep has got me so freekin loving it. I did Sturgis in 1978 and 1979, Max attendance was 5,000 back then.

I’m sorry I didn’t know you were looking to lift your Jeep, I would have definitely let you drive mine. Maybe if y’all come back to wheel you can check out what I’ve done and drive my rig and I can explain anything you may have questions about. Here’s a couple of pics of the articulation of the rk. The metal cloak would give the same.

Cool. I was a Road Glide guy, and my wife had a Street Glide. I had not quite rode in all 48 of the lower 48. I made it to 45 of them though, and became a member of the 'IronButt Motorcycle Association' by riding 1000 miles in one day (1052 to be exact..:)). We decided a couple of years ago to hang it up though. I lost count of how many times we did Sturgis. Probably 7 or 8 times??

You may like this setup. It also involves a body lift (spacer lift) along with some other goodies such as coilovers. Pretty neat and this guy knows his shit..

One thing I would recommend no matter what lift you do is to get the rk no limits sway bar links. They are designed specifically for the rubicons electronic disco. I don’t know how to send links but if you google them, then watch the first video, it explains it. Basically they have 60 degrees of misalignment and they let the sway bar operate to its full potential without binding.

Thanx Rocky, There looks to be 3 different 2.5 lift kits with the X factor, one without shocks and the other two with, Not sure if either of the two with shocks have the no limits sway bar link included. I will have to contact their sales department before ordering. I'm in touch with Happy Trails 4x4 to do the install so we will see where it goes from there

I'm not a big fan of the OEM wheels on the 2019 JLU Sahara, but I didn't want to attempt making the sell job on my wife that I 'need' different wheels. So, for a little under $30 and several hours stolen from my retired life, I decided to try Plasti Dip. It's not hard stuff to work with, and it gives me a good idea of what the Jeep will look like once I summon the courage to discuss new wheels with the CEO..;).

Jeez, my list of desired upgrades and mods grows by the day.. it's a good thing I'm handy, and enjoy the DIY thing. ..I need to get my wife on the trail. It will be MUCH easier to get her onboard with the mods once I get her hooked on the 'Jeep' thing.
