Good to know. If I purchase a kit they certainly aren’t keeping my bottle lol I’ll have to do some cold calling locally to see if people do refills vice bottle swaps..Yes I did mine as a DIY unfortunately all of my parts didn't come in before our Saturday trip, I would check your places that you plan on getting it filled with CO2 because most of them tend to swap out tanks instead of filling them at that location. if you get a tank and it doesn't have a handle on it I recommend making sure the handle goes on before you get it filled because you may have to take all of that off and then reinstall.
Meh..... just grab a beer, light a smoke and use one of these........![]()
So, for shits and gigs I just priced out a Power Tank setup several different ways in order to beat the system.
Spoiler Alert, it ain’t much but I can be done if you’re crazy enough to spend this much (I am not) LOL
The cheapest possible way using military discounts:
Order a spare bottle itself in any color on Power Tanks website and use military.
Order the Power Tank Regulator Kit & Tank boot from Quadratec and use military discount.
Total is roughly $504.66
If you do it all through Power Tank with military it will be $535.xx
If you try to individually piece it out it’s $540+ and you’d be using an off brand regulator OR an older obsolete Power Tank regulator.
That to me is just a crazy amount of money for a freakn Co2 tank setup LOL
This Smittybilt unit has pretty good reviews. $126 delivered.Meh..... just grab a beer, light a smoke and use one of these........

It’s not as quick as a power tank but we’re only talking minutes here really. I added 12-15 pounds or so to all four in about 10 minutes.
I don’t air down that often wheeling here in Florida, so I couldn’t justify 500.00 for a tank that just sat there, lol.
this is the exact one I’ll probably get. Small enough to bring out, and inexpensive enough to not feel bad when you go out and don’t use it lolThis Smittybilt unit has pretty good reviews. $126 delivered.

But something draws me to the Co2 setup. I guess it wouldn’t make sense to get it because I’d just be sitting there waiting for everyone else to air up lolThats the one I have and it works pretty well. like rocky said, All 4 tires in less than 10 min.
I don't think anyone system is better than the other, its just each individuals preference. As long as you got air, that's all that matters. Our last trip to moab, We were told by one of the Outfitters that you can Air down to 18-20 lbs and drive on it all week in the vacinity of Moab and all the trails as long as you don't exceed 60mph.But something draws me to the Co2 setup.
