Probably not worth it, but I bought one myself, just in case. If this was a Toyota or something with dead-nuts unquestionable reliability, I probably wouldn't have, but based on my opinion/experience with build-quality of this vehicle during the first 3 years (okay, but not great) and CDJR/Fiat's current reputation, I figured it wouldn't be a bad idea.

I got the 8-year/85k-mile FlexCare Extended Care Premium w/$100 deductible (Mopar MaxCare equivalent) for $2,200 through Granger. Don't think they're a sponsor here any more, but afaik, they still sell the Mopar warranties.

With all the Electronics on the Rubicon now that's my main concern plus my friend has already had to replace the oil cooler and the alt on his 2024 Rubicon.... the $2450 quote was from Zeigler Auto Group

Yes it's worth it. Though I don't know if you really NEED the full B2B...I would be most concerned about the drivetrain and engine/body management network, and those are covered by the next level down (used to be called Added Care Plus).

Chances are very high you will blow right past that $2450 in repairs and even if you don't, you'll get close enough that the gap is worth the peace of mind.

Try Chrysler Warranty Direct, very competitive. Worth it ? It’s a gamble, never used on my 15 GC, but already nearly $400 ahead with my first Wrangler claim. 8/85/$100 ~$1250 in 21, first claim $1730 minus deductible.

We purchased an used extended warranty from Zeigler. We are so glad we purchased because now the Jeep needs a new engine. Jeep is at the dealership waiting for the new engine. 2021 Jeep Willys 2.0 - 73k miles.

You aren't buying a warranty as per US Law. You are buying a service policy no matter what the salesperson says. Even the Mopar one is a service policy. They are all written by lawyers to make money for the sellers.

That's the route I'm going
Zeigler was super with all the options didn't hit me with the pressure type mentality just sent me the quotes and said call us when you are ready

This is the only post on this thread that makes sense, much that I realize that exposing the other poster's ideas as ridiculous, even though they are, is not likely to sway them.

First off, the reason these warranties are classified as service policies, as @Deen alludes to, rather than insurance is that it legally, in many States, bypasses the stringent capital reserve requirements and regulatory oversight that govern traditional insurance companies.

And while he is correct that lawyers draw up the contracts, the rates cited on them, and what is covered are a product of actuarial research that mathematically finds that the monies taken from those stupid, ignorant, gullible, and/or fearful of repair costs, minus sales commissions, advertising, and outlay for repairs, leaves the warrantor with hefty profits that statistically guarantee that those covered get less than they pay for.

There are the few, and they seem to permeate forums with their confirmational bias , along with those selling contracts, talking how much they saved with these contracts. The myriads of contact owners who paid more than they ever saw rarely post as such, as who wants to admit their error.

"But cars and their electronics are expensive these days to repair, and Stellantis in particular is know for their shoddy builds...."

I love this one.

...And what, you don't think the price for the service contact that you pay for doesn't reflect this?

Put that money in an interest bearing account for rainy day repairs. You are far more likely to come out ahead.

Finally, it's only fair that I share my emotional connection to this topic just as others have shared theirs with the money they saved....

Service contracts are the devil. They help put people in vehicles they can't afford (and afford here means both to buy and repair), levering their risks with service contracts that further put them from the money they can't afford to be without.

Lest anyone think that I believe true insurance (home, fire, liability, medical, etc.) a bad thing, nothing could be further from the case--even though these policies also statistically pay out less than they take in. They are a necessary part of life.

I have it on my 4Xe and had on the Ram as well, last year I had the transfer case and associated crap replaced under warranty (on the 7th year) and had the steering column replaced in its 5th year. total for both was well over 1800-2000 that I had paid to get the warranty back in the day.

this is the place I bought warranty from

I know the extended warranty discussion is an argumentative topic, I sleep better at night knowing I have it in place. Just purchased the Extended Premium Care from Zeigler. They were great to deal with and substantially cheaper than the local dealership's in-house extended warranty.
