on my daughter's '20sport S JL, she's already decided on the Method MR309 Wheels in Titanium:
17 X 8.5 with 4.75" backspacing
factory wheels are 17 x 7.5 with 44.5mm offset

what always confuses me is when backspacing AND offset are being compared in the same situation....where, approximately, will the new tires and wheels sit in relation to the body compared to the stock wheels/tires?

BUT!

Will a BFG KO2 in 285/70/17 work not only with the wheels she wants, but on the JL with no additional lift?

last thing I want or need is to end up getting wheels and tires that don't fit..she's getting rid of one Jeep with a lift & has decided that she doesn't really need on on her new one

Perfect: that was what I was trying to do! seems like her only issue *might* be suspension rub..but honestly, being a mall crawler, maybe not being a big issue?
Should be fine in that regard, if you scroll down on that page it verifies that there will be more room there :)
Tires being taller may rub a bit on that plastic bumper panel, my 295/70/17s do (they are about a 1/2" taller than those KO2s) but it's a very minor rubbing, so not really an issue.
