How well does the updated 2020 Nissan Titan perform in real-world MPG testing? We test its fuel economy before the official EPA figures are published, and we find out if the 2020 Jeep Wrangler EcoDiesel manages at least 29 mpg in our efficiency loop.

Over 30 hwy kinda matches up.

“Jeep says the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel and Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel should give us an idea how the Wrangler EcoDiesel ought to do, from which we gather it'll probably do about 22/30 mpg. This is backed up by the onboard computer, which reported an average of 30 mpg over a few hours of mostly highway driving. After a full afternoon of serious wheeling and rock crawling in four low, the computer reported an average of 18 mpg.”

Yeah that is impressive. A 4 door Jeep Wrangler on 33's getting over 30 mpg, wow. I have zero knowledge of the Nissan truck but in my book over 20 mpg in a V8 pickup is acceptable.

A modern diesel MPG has to be calculated with regens to be accurate.
Not if you yank all the emission crap out, and put a programmer in it. :flag:

Sure... But that's a completely different animal.
Maybe so, but I think we can all appreciate the irony of forcing self-righteous pseudo-environmentalists to insist diesel drivers get worse fuel economy. But hey, why trade lower NOx and particulate for higher CO2 when you can just make a power plant produce all three and pretend you account for zero, amirite?

Pretty cool but weird that it has a cap. My ‘18 dually was capless on the fuel but still had the DEF cap.

I can't watch those morons for more than a couple minutes....did they say how many miles on the Nissan?

I purchased an '05 Colorado 3.5 new and the mpg literally climbed about 1mpg for the first 6 to 8 tanks...all hand-calculated.

I started out getting 16 or 17 on my daily commute from town to home and it finally topped out near 24 once the engine had broken in

Can't even buy that Nissan diesel anymore. It was discontinued last year due to poor sales.

The Titan in the video had a gasoline engine (just an fyi).

I'm thinking outside the box, and what many will do, once they see the issues associated with modern diesels.
