I'll be ordering my Sarge in Willys Unlimited trim with Heritage Tan seats...although I am trying to hold out for the Uconnect 5 (wireless Android Auto) since aftermarket solutions don't look promising. I do also wish I could get KO2's instead, as well as the Sarge color grill instead of black. No proximity key either in the Willys..? Call me what you will, but high output modern headlights and proximity key are two of my favorites that once you have on a vehicle you can't live without.

I agree with an early post...what's with these spec'd out Rubicons without LED Lighting Group!?

Yeah, but those red seat belts, ugh. I'm just not a fan of bright red, so I want to minimize it.
The Recon is also exclusively available with the four cylinder, a deal breaker for me.
I have a Sarge Green Rubicon on the way and I'm just going to remove the dash panels and paint them body color. I priced the black leather ones and they're almost $400.
Hey awesome to see green is here that we have been waiting for!!!

What does your order entail if you want to share?!

When I first started looking for my jeep I hated the red dash also. But after a while it's growing on me. I agree it would depend on the exterior color. I was looking at ocean blue first and it looks good with that. Now i'm looking at the sarge green and I still like it.

When is the Uconnect 5 supposed to be out? Is the biggest upgrade just wireless android auto? Is it just a software change or different hardware? I'm asking because i'm getting ready to order my JLUR in about a month.

Thanks! That was a good read. I wish they had a timeline on when we can order it. I would wait a couple of months for it. But if it's not coming out until next year it's not worth the wait for me.
Couldn't agree more. Seems as though we both have the same predicament. The big purpose, to me, of Android Auto (or Apple CarPlay) is that I can upgrade my smartphone every other year or however often...but I certainly don't want to upgrade my car this often. The more tech put into cars, the more they'll be treated like appliances. Let the smartphone be the infotainment.

I have wired Android Auto in my 2019 VW and is awesome. The having to plug in in order to make use of all its features is annoying. It's unnecessary wear on the USB-C connector as well as likely bad for the battery. I'd rather just keep the phone in my pocket, just like my proximity key fob, and the everyday use music will play and can get my navigation as needed. Bluetooth audio will do this, but extremely limited in control and can't use Google Voice Assistant.

That's a great question, as I was thinking about starting an independent thread asking if there is anyone else who prefers their JL's WITHOUT the LED lighting group.

I mean, I can see the appeal to have nice bright lights.

However, for me, I prefer more of a classic Jeep look and the LEDs look too modern to me. I've never had a problem with halogen lamps, and I'm probably missing out on something that I may never go back if I try. That being said, I saw a JL parked on the street with the LEDs on when I was walking by right before ordering my JLUR and it just seemed, forgive the pun, too flashy to me. Thus, I stuck with the more classic halogens when ordering mine.

If you like it, great! I can definitely see the appeal. It was even a close call on my part given how many people seem to like them, but I just wanted a more classic look.

I'm skipping the LED package for that very reason.

Very valid points. I can understand the classic look as well as not being too flashy. I'd be concerned about the continual complaints of inadequate output from the halogens. You especially see that complaint with the JK's. I've also seen several comments on the JL's.

Some buyers also skip the LED package because they plan on buying after market bumpers that don't accommodate the factory led fog lights. They plan to just buy after market LED head lights.

If you go with Willys instead Willys sport, you will get the led lights.

Ditto on liking a more classic look. I got the halogen headlights (with no daytime running lights since I got a Sport S). However, for some reason I liked the LED tail lights so I got the safety group which included those.

I'm sure the halogen headlights are no match for the LEDs in terms of brightness, but they are fine for me.

I went with the LED pack for one reason, power consumption. The LEDs use a fraction of the power that filament bulbs do so I can use them for longer when I'm camping, etc, without running the battery dead. Not that I'm particularly fond of their high color temp, but they do also last several times longer than filament bulbs. I may never need to replace a bulb the entire time I own the Jeep.

Many of you discussed the color of the dashboard.
I think, that´s a very tiny issue.

If you don´t like the red, why do not laminate it with a film in any color you like?
Should be rather easy to do so. A specialist should not need a lot of time and it shouldn´t be too expensive.
