I agree with this. I'm fairly disappointed in the Magneto. It looks like something that was haphazardly slapped together. Here is a vehicle that has multiple batteries, instead of one, will likely have limited range, still has a transmission. A manual at that. This is one concept I hope doesn't make it to production in its current form.

A Wrangler EV is going to have to be new from the ground up if it is going to be successful. It will need ONE battery pack that can be fully submerged without damage. It's going to need 2 to 4 submergable electric motors and it shouldn't have a transmission at all. I think most will agree it's going to need at least 300miles of range as well as some sort of fast charging support.

Getting the off road community to buy into a Wrangler EV is going to be hard enough. Stellantis (man what a stupid name) is WAY behind other manufacturers in EV tech. They had better get their act together quickly.

I would consider a hardtop if it was possible to completely remove myself. I'm too anti-social to ask a neighbor for a hand to take it off and install.

EDIT: Just realized it was only the windows that come out. That's still an interesting concept.
For less than $50, you can buy 4 eye-bolts and 4 ratchet straps and put a do-it-yourself hard top lift in your garage.

I would need 420 miles range minimum for an all-electric. We make the drive between FL and TN several times a year strait up thru MS which will probably be the last state to have a rapid charger. I'll stick with the 4xe (if I ever get it) for now since I'm either doing less than 25 miles a day in FL or that long trip to TN. They actually have gasoline and indoor bathrooms in MS now.

Which means 1.44 miles per kWh.

Which means that a 70 kWh battery is good for 70 * 1.44 = 101 miles of range.

This is more concept than prototype. A wrangler type vehicle needs a 200 kWh battery. For that to be reasonably affordable, and not create an 8000lb wrangler, we need another four years of battery improvements, at the current rates that batteries have been improving.

alright, I need to know: is that Custom interior, or are those seat covers? And where can I get them?!

Also: I love the travel stickers on the dash. Considering doing something similar to my JLUR.

This is hilarious, but it sounds more like an erection drug given their erection over battery technology. But that is the way we are heading.

I got the same answer, but used different math. If the 4xe gets almost 25 miles on electric only with a 17kw battery, then a 70kw battery, roughly 4 times the capacity, would yield around a 100 mile range. I'm thinking a mini nuclear reactor might be necessary to get the range over 400 miles.

Using an electric motor in the engine bay, connected to the manual transmission, will pave the way for Conversion Kits for thousands of Wranglers out there. This will add more customers for the giant Customization Factory being built. Jeep is looking to cover all bases, no Jeep left behind.

The 4 doors with Sky Touch already have removable windows. I ask again.....why not the 2drs ? (I'm sure you don't need Sky Touch to have them)

Yup. Until we reach this level of battery technology EV is not going to be practical for a lot of people.
The flip side of that statement is that even now, EV technology IS practical for a lot of people. My 2013 Leaf has 75k miles on it. My 2018 Tesla has over 30k miles on it, which includes lots of road tripping.

We're just not there yet for special purpose type vehicles - long distance towing, jeeping. Cybertruck will open up a lot more use cases, but it remains vaporware.
