Crammed with what? There is nothing that "needs" to be in that space.
Here is the front trunk on a rivian. That thing also has 4 motors. One at each wheel.

Two completely different animals. The JL is being adapted to work with its solid axles and transfer case. All other electric vehicles are build from the get go to have all the electric motors, battery packs and computers built into its subframe, "skateboard" if you will.

With an electric JL or JT, I am assuming the motor will still be in front of the transmission, under the hood, with associated accessory components. The motor will still drive the same JL/JT transmission, to the transfer case, to front and rear solid axles.

If this configuration is altered is it still a JL or JT?

I'm not saying it can't be a jeep, but is it still a Wrangler or Gladiator?

An electric engine with power routed through a transfer case and drive shafts would be exceptionally inefficient.

Maybe Jeep will use something like this. Skip to the 4 minute point.

That would be really inefficient to use the transmission and transfer box, as the other poster mentioned. An electric motor delivers its maximum torque at zero RPM. They also deliver power instantly and have a very large range than an ICE, so they don't need a system to keep them at their "happy zone" like ICE engines do.. Plus, can operate beyond 20k RPMs, which.. I think the transmission would not be so keen on.
The fewer the moving parts, the fewer stuff to snap on the trail ;)

I think the ideal design philosophy will be a motor at each wheel. But to preserve the SFA suspension we all know and love (and I guess the rear as well), you can simply tie the driver and passenger sides together with a "fake" solid axle like they did with the 2WD wrangler X and keep the rest of the suspension more or less the same.

The @Maximus-3 gladiator sports rack looks awesome in red. I like the rolling bed cover too!

If they actually make a production version of a 2 door, 6 speed manual, all-electric Wrangler, I will fly over the Toledo plant and throw my money at them from the sky.

Orange Peelz color option asap please! that's much better than Nacho. Tube fenders with a good LED turn signal would be awesome.

Nice to see so many 2 door concepts. Now actually build some of them, jeep!

also- this is the second BEV I’ve seen with a manual transmission. Ford collaborated with someone and built an awesome Mustang with a stick. It gives me hope that the manual may live on.
