WTF just tried purchasing these and shipping is over $100 to Toronto. Sure that includes $25 for duties, but $75+ for shipping.? Yeah, no thanks.

No, the current needs to be evenly distributed on both sides to avoid bulb error.

I wish I understood this. Just can't get my head around why you couldn't crimp the wires together to lead wire going to the courtesy light positive? I don't understand how the application of current needs to be so evenly distributed if the wire taps are going to be on different locations on the wire and the grounds are just fender bolts on opposite sides of the car. Maybe I just don't understand LED enough?
If you'd like, you can give us a call tomorrow and ask to speak with our product specialist. He'd be happy to expertly explain and answer any application questions you might have! Our toll-free line is 1-800-407-5776.

Unfortunately, we can't control the international shipping fees and duties/taxes of the service carriers. Sorry it's inconvenient!

I agree. This should be no different than tying 2 led pod lights or 2 headlight halos together.

What's the size of the box? Surely they can't be that large/heavy to warrant a $75 shipping fee via UPS. I ship back and forth all the time cross border with my company via UPS and I'm having a hard time understanding the cost structure. All good though, just a large barrier to purchasing these when the shipping accounts for over 50% of the cost of these units

Did you pull the vent out to mount the light or get to it from the fender well? Any pictures of the actual light/mount?

Cool concept, looks trick. But it seems to me that placement and purpose are self-defeating. i.e., the lights come on when you open the door, but the light is blocked by the open door. Kinda like an illuminated rifle scope that only turns on when the dust caps are on.

Oracle or anyone else got any pictures of what the ground illumination looks like with the door open?

I'm considering these as part of my rock light setup. That seems much more practical to me.

We don't have all our pictures yet to show the ground; but if you watch until the end of the road test video, you can see that the door does not block the useful illumination of the step and of the ground.

Per the video and my understanding, I believe the lights come on when you hit the unlock button on the remote, not just when you open the door.

I do like the concept of these, but they have their issues. For me, the whole piece that gets stuck to the side of the Jeep is a bit bulky. However with that said, my Jeep is black so it would be much harder to notice. Plus, I had early issues with my LED blinkers/DRL as my Jeep did not come with that option from the factory, but that was fixed with the Tazer. I'm concerned that splicing more lights into that wiring could cause more LED issues. I'm interested, but I think I'll wait until other forum members install and document these before making a decision.

Love love <3 the idea. But the finishing touch to get me to purchase this is IF it had a Saturday night fever disco dance mode!! Truly make the Jeep a REAL JEEP!:LOL::handsinair::beer::sun:

I'm not sure what the fuss is all about. The lights are the same height as the door hinge. The housing contours to the pre-existing curvature of the Jeep. I'd rather have a slightly longer/wider housing unit that looks OEM, than a small awkward housing unit that sticks out like a sore thumb.
I understand this isn't for everyone, similar to 3k front/rear bumpers isn't for everyone. The lights are better than what a vast majority currently have ... nothing. It's an additional 'safety' feature, by adding another turn signal to the side of the Jeep.
If the door blocks a little light when opened, it's not a game-changer. I'd rather have full visibility when entering my vehicle than exiting. I'm aware of what I am parking near/over, more so than what has appeared under my vehicle upon returning.
The videos show what to expect when you purchase the lights. I'll give them credit for showing detailed information. How many items have been purchased by looks alone, without seeing how they work?
I'm looking forward to the addition, as I preordered the lights.
Once I dip the badge and install the smoked side markers, I will have nothing but a Sting-Grey and Black Jeep. :like:

Thanks for your comments! We are excited to see photos and hear more thoughts when all the pre-orders go out to members. We're confident that you'll like the look in person and will see the functionality that these offer.

How are we looking on ship date? Are you still on schedule for the 29th?
Thanks!
