Hey All, New Member to the jeep world. Owned a Cherokee 20 years ago but never a wrangler. Some years back I saw a youtube video of a rubicon with a 6.7 liter cummins in it! I thought that was the coolest thing ever. Its been in the back of my head for years. If memory serves it was called project rattle snake maybe? Anyway long story short, I am the proud new owner of a 2021 JLU Rubicon DIESEL! Super excited and although it was expensive it seems very nice. Just broke 100 miles today on a joy ride.

Looking to mod it for trail use in Colorado but still drive it to work. The 35/37 debate will be on my plate soon. Anyways, im new to jeep land and looking for local buddies and recommendations on places to go, things to see and mods to make!

I would like to make this post as a place for me to show some things i want to do to it and also get suggestions from you all.

I have seem some other really cool little things people have done that are really nice.

I have a mopar lift kit on order but im a bit gun shy. Is it a nice kit? I dont know much about it. Someone told me to add trackbars?

Thanks for the advice

Keep it stock and wheel it,
pretty soon “You “ will know what you need to do.
Asking random strangers their options on your Jeep doesn’t make any sense.
Thought that was the whole point of the forum was collaboration and to get ideas from fellow jeepers on quality products and experiences

I am from Colorado and been wheeling (not hardcore rock crawling, been on Black bear, Imogene etc.) with stock JKUR on 32s since 2013. It will be better to take it on trails and see what mods works for you. 35s and under body armor (skid plates, diff covers etc.)will be a good start...

I think it's great advise to drive and wheel it for awhile before adding mods. In the past, I have rushed into jeep mods and wish I had waited a little longer. The stock Rubicon is extremely capable on its own. I'm not saying mods are bad, I just learned that time behind the wheel changed my mind on a few changes and also saved me money I the long run.

Thanks for the info
What kind of trails would you recommend that allow me to see how capable the stock rubicon is?
Not sure I know where to take it to see that.
I doubt I’ll be taking a stock jeep on China mans if your familiar with that trail

New wheels, bumper lights etc. will make it unique.

Some trails you could start with are below:

1-2 hour drive from Denver:
  1. Argentine Pass
  2. Kingston Peak
  3. Red Cone - wont recommend this until you have some experience
  4. Mosquito Pass
  5. Loch Lomond
San Juan:
  1. Imogene Pass
  2. Yankee Boy basin
  3. Alpine Loop (other than Poughkeepsie Gulch)

If your looking to break in a newB let me know! Would love to make some new Jeep friends.

I was just watching a video on red cone. I have been up there on my dirtbike. I took this screen show of this guys jeep from the video. I love his wheels. Anyone know what they are?

Sure.. we can figure out Trail runs once they are open.

Some kind of fake bead lock probably... the Mopar bead locks are nice..

I just got AEV Salta XR Wheels for our new JLUR 4xe.

Nice, is that your ride? You got a 4Xe? I have never seen one in the wild.
Do you have a build log somewhere on what you have done to it?
Any trails open this time of year? Something south i gather? Penrose?

Yes, thats mine.. got it couple of weeks back, not many on the road yet.

Not many mods yet, just 35s and AEV wheels. will be adding some lights soon and skid plates when they become available for 4xe later this year..

Switzerland trail, Rollins pass road to tunnel (just a dirt road) etc. are open. I am sure several in the Springs are are open. check out the FB group below.
