The dealer said that they need to take off the oil Pan and reseal. Mileage is at 3800. The diesel has been amazing so far.

Did you put a wrench on that bolt to see if it was loose?

Yes, that was the first thing I did. Both bolts on each side are seeping and torqued to spec. I wish it would have been that easy. Thanks for the suggestion.

I would not think a single loose bolt in that location would cause a leak due to having the ones next to it on either side to help keep it sealed, but you never know. good luck, and hopefully all it is was a few loose bolts and that just happens to be the low point for the oil is gathering. I had a coolant leak on my engine, and when I actually kept tracing up I finally found the issue and it wasn't what we initially thought.

I totally agree but my dealer said they have seen a few diesel oil pans leak at the exact same spot. The cure was to pull off the pan and reseal. Hopefully that is the cure.

now that is interesting. that sounds like a batch of bad gaskets, or pans. a reseal with a different gasket may solve a slight defect in either. worth keeping an eye on after the repair for sure.

I was under my Jeep checking suspension bolts this evening and noticed a damp oil pan. Traced up driver's side and I too have some sort of leak/seep, but mine appears worse than yours and further up the engine... Yay.

That just sucks! Hopefully it is something minor. Keep us posted.
