The EPIC Team got our hands on a Rubicon 4XE and immediately tore it apart just to lift it up using a 2.5" Teraflex Spacer Lift, Falcon 2.1 Shocks, and 35" Nitto Exo Grappler tires on a custom painted set of 17x9" Fuel Kicker wheels. We encountered a few interesting quirks about the 4XE along the way that we have not seen published by anyone else online, such as the steeper transfer case angle, and rear pedestrian warning device.

Please check out our video on the build below, and feel free to ask any technical questions or leave feedback on this thread or in the comment section on the video. Thanks!

Thanks for the tip on the driveshaft.

The wheels you had painted to match look sharp; nice touch.

Great vid.
Interesting about the drive shaft - what will Jeep have to say about that issue considering there's no indication that it's an issue with the Mopar lift - granted the Mopar lift is only '2 inches' but history has shown that to be more around '2.5-3 inches' - but that said, with the 4xe supposedly coming with springs that punch it 1" higher than regular JLUs from the factory, and the Teraflex 2.5" kit actually coming with 3" front spacers, wondering if that vehicle there isn't sitting (unsettled) at 4" over a regular JLU - and from the looks of it in the video, it sure does look like it's got a 4" lift on it!

They are pretty funny. I plan on this same lift with the shocks replaced also but with 37's. The drive shaft thing is interesting.....

You would think that Mopar would have addressed that with the Mopar 2" lift since it historically is 2.5-3". Glad I stayed with the 1.5" and still room for 37'sif needed. makes you wonder how many parts were used from other Rubicon models that are marginal assuming this dive shaft is an issue which is appears to be, so is that extra inch factory lift the real problem...

Great vid by the way

So another question - how did you guys re-route the e-brake line? The 4xe body tub (prob because of the battery) sits way lower in front of the crossmember that the e-brake cables are normally re-routed under (in front of, then under) and there is NO room to re-route them under that crossmember.

Give me an idea of what I'm looking for and I'll take a look at mine real quick.

Excellent question! ;) You are absolutely correct, the 4XE tub dips down right in front of the rear chassis crossmember to accommodate the battery pack, making re-routing the e-brake lines below basically impossible. On this particular build we only installed a 2" rear spring spacer and Falcon 2.1 shocks, of which do not have a very long extended length, so there was no strain on the non-relocated e-brake cables at full droop. On our taller ~3.5" builds with 3.X series Falcon Shocks, we are expecting this to be an issue, and are hoping to find a solution, of which we may dedicate an entire video and forum post.

Cheers!

Rear drive shaft is no problem with the front getting closer like Epic stated.

With the larger lift did you have a solution for the brake lines?

Front removing the LCA/Brake line brackets worked with 28.5" shock extension. I tossed the parking brake bracket from the rear.

I hear that Teraflex is building out a 4xe specific lift kit.....I wonder if they will be addressing the driveshaft spacing as part of that??
Also, what is the offset on those wheels? I assume they have good clearance to the suspension and fender liners?
